Last week, I attended Positively Teal Bloggers Event, with the aim of understanding more about Ovarian Cancer. My late mum is the primary reason why I want to be part of this campaign. She's a cancer victim (not ovarian though).
Through my blog, I hope to raise awareness of Ovarian Cancer to people from all walks of life. It is important to know the signs and symptoms of Ovarian Cancer as those in early stage have a better chance of surviving. Towards the end of this blog post, I'll be furnishing the general info about Ovarian Cancer.
The event was held @ La Maison du Canelé.
Assoc. Prof. Mahesh Choolani (Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, NUH) was there to share with us the important things we need to know about Ovarian Cancer, and the event line-up for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
Do you know?
Ovarian Cancer is the 5th most common cancer among Singaporean women. Each year, there are 290 new cases and about 100 die from it. In Singapore, 1 in 80 women faces Ovarian Cancer in their lifetime.
