PS: FREE PARKING FOR ALL!
The food tour started off with Casallena (#01-14), where fun people connect over wine n tapas!
This is simply the perfect place for quality food at affordable prices!
There are over 70 labels of wine selections, including house pouring wine, champagne, sparkling from region of old and new world wine. Impressive!
I like the warm & cosy ambience. And, the staff here are really friendly and attentive, makes me feel at home. Thumbs up!
They also have outdoor seating, which is great for a relaxing chillout session (in the night).
Here, at this 1st stop, we had an awesome 9-course meal. Most of the dishes were incredibly good!
Trying to be more healthy, I opted for sparkling water instead of the usual coke. heh.
Exotic Mushroom Soup Infused with Truffle - $7.50
This has gotta be the yummiest mushroom soup ever! See the chock full of mushroom bits... how thick and creamy it is! And, I really like that the truffle taste is not too overwhelming!
Needless to say, I finished it all up. Every single drop. It is seriously THAT good!
Tataki of Tuna with Peppercorn Salad - $11.90
I love my salmon sashimi but never tuna. This is definitely an exception! The tuna tataki was fresh and tender. Most importantly, it does not have the bloody raw taste that I super dislike.
The overall taste was rather unique - sweet (tuna), savory (sauce) with a hint of spiciness (peppery crust).
Curry Pizza - $11.80
This pizza is like very-very different from the usual ones! The Indian curry taste is distinctively strong and super spicy! The bosses told us that the one we were having was the mild level... and I was like "WHAT?! Are you kidding me?!"
If you love spicy food, do try this and be WOW-ed! Feel free to upgrade the spicy level (;
Seafood Lasagne Maki - $12.50
The normal lasagne is like squarish/rectangularish, with layering of ingredients between pasta sheets. This maki version is simply (seafood) ingredients "rolled" within a layer of pasta sheet. The seafood tasted super fresh, sweet and succulent!
OMG, the makis were literally drowned in cheesy goodness! Sinful indulgence you won't wanna miss :d~
Pork Sausage Pizza - $11.80
This pizza is only slightly less spicy than the curry one. I like both, especially when the crust is so thin & crispy... topped with generous helpings of cheese and sausage/seafood ingredients.
YUMMILICIOUS!!
Wagyu Tomahawk - $198 (special promo price)
OMG-OMG-OMG!! THIS IS FREAKING HUGE (between 1.5kg to 1.6kg)!!
Meat lovers rejoice!
This is meant to be shared, among 3-4 pax. For ladies, maybe 5-6 pax at least?
The meat was well-cooked, soooo tender and oh-so-juicy! It tasted good on its own, even more appetizing with the complementary sauces.
It's a DIE-DIEEE-MUST-TRY! Act fast as the special promo price is only for a limited period of time (usual price: $256).
Chempedak Cake - $6.50
Dessert time! This soft, spongy cake with chempedak (similar to jackfruit) tasted quite normal, in my opinion. I think it is not creamy enough for my liking. The sweetness is just right though.
Green Tea Tiramisu ($6.50)
I love anything green tea. However, this does not quite live up to expectations. The green tea taste is quite mild (I like mine strong). Like the Chempedak Cake, it was soft, spongy and not that creamy.
Baked Apple Crumble ($9.80)
This is the one dessert you MUST try when you visit Casallena! Highly recommended :D
The apple crumble was served warm with quality Haagen-Dazs ice cream. I like that the apple filling was not too sweet and the crumble has this slight sweet buttery taste. It goes very well with the ice cream.
Me, Estelle and Herine greedily happily polished off everything! It was soooo good! I will order one just for myself on my next visit, which is soon! Can't wait! :P~
That's all for now. Thank you for reading.
