Manicure/Pedicure Session @ Nail Tavern

Just last week, I had a pampering manicure and pedicure session at Nail Tavern. It had been a long while since I last did my mani/pedi, so I was super looking forward to it!

Nail Tavern
#01-1329, 56 New Upper Changi Road

Nail Tavern is perfect for the easties, especially those staying in Bedok/Tanah Merah area.

The nail salon has a cosy ambience, with comfortable chairs.

They provide an extensive range of services that include spa treatments, gelish manicure, paraffin wax, waxing, etc. And, they use only quality nail lacquers from brands like Opi and Orly

I opted for gel manicure and spa pedicure.

Did not manage to take any photos of the process as my hands were busy being pampered :x

Well, what's more important is the outcome... right? I could not stop admiring my nails since last week. The manicurist really did a fabulous job! She was extremely careful and precise, especially with the nail art.

Colorful neon leopard prints over an ivory shimmery base, with the accent nail accessory (diamante bow) ❤

The spa pedicure was a pampering one, leaving my feet feel rejuvenated. My toe nails were then beautifully painted with OPI Suzi's Hungary Again (a bright warm pink IRL) thereafter. No bubbles or unevenness. And, no chips so far (6th day).

Here are some of the designs they offer.

Thank you, Streetdirectory/Nail Tavern for the invite (:

Shall end my post with a photo of my new camera and laptop! *throw confetti*

The photos in this post (except the last) are taken with my new camera - Casio Exilim EX-ZR1000 :D

That's all for now. Have a great week ahead!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion (DDML), one of the most iconic face moisturizers has been dermatologist-reformulated to deliver even more dramatically different results. It is now known as Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ (DDML+).

Expect 100% improvement in moisture for all day hydration (without an extra drop of oil) and 54% improvement in skin’s barrier strength in 8 weeks (without changing the well-loved silky texture)!

In order to provide barrier strength and boost its moisturizing power, Clinique paired new formulating technology with ingredients that have a long dermatological heritage for efficiency and comfort.

The Barrier Repairing Ingredients:

Phytofix >> a blend of sunflower seed cake, barley extract and cucumber fruit extract that helps to strengthen the skin’s barrier, imparting resilience and resistance to environmental stresses.

The New Moisturizing Ingredients:

Hyaluronic Acid >> effective in helping skin hold onto moisture for improved hydration

Glycerin >> a well known humectant that attracts moisture to skin

Urea >> natural moisturizing factor

The new DDML+ has a light silky texture, which makes it easy and quick to absorb into the skin, leaving a healthy glow on the skin. I like how the skin feels soft and smooth to touch (sans greasiness/stickiness) thereafter. Not to mention, the skin feels well moisturized all day long, with no signs of irritation.

DDML+ is recommended for dry skin. If you have oily skin, do get the gel version (DDMG) instead.

The new DDML+ is available in 50ml - S$28 and 100ml - S$60.

There is no typo error in the above mentioned pricing. They have been reduced from S$42 and S$72 respectively. That's great news for DDML fans and future users! Fyi, the new pricing applies for DFS as well.

That's all for now. Thank you for reading!

KATE Brightening Makeup Base & Concealing Cover Powder Foundation

My daily face base routine is usually primer (optional), then BB cream/liquid foundation followed by pressed/loose powder. On lazy days, I opt for just primer and powder foundation.

My current faves are KATE Brightening Makeup Base & Powder Foundation For Cover, which can be found in KATE Cosmetics Spring Summer 2013 Collection.

KATE Brightening Makeup Base comes with SPF23 PA+++.

KATE Brightening Makeup Base comes in a convenient squeeze tube with fine tip nozzle that dispenses just the amount of product, avoiding wastage.

It is available only in Light Beige (beige with yellow undertones). I think those with darker skintone can apply a thin layer of this makeup base followed by your regular foundation, for a brighter look.

It has a light creamy consistency that is easy to spread and blend. When applied on the skin (using fingers), it feels like a lighter version of liquid foundation. It has light medium coverage, subtly concealing redness and visible pores. It brightens and evens out the skin tone naturally, with a semi-matte finish.

KATE Concealing Cover Powder Foundation comes with SPF20 PA+++. The powder foundation and case are sold separately.

KATE Concealing Cover Powder Foundation is available in 6 shades. My usual shade is OC-C but it was already snapped up by the others (at the event) since it is a common shade. I was matched to BE-C (beige with slightly yellow undertones). Intially, I was pretty worried that it might be too dark for me. My worries were clearly unfounded. In fact, it matches my fair-medium skintone perfectly!

Here, I applied KATE Brightening Makeup Base and Concealing Cover Powder Foundation only on the right side. See the difference?

I adore the velvety smooth powder texture of the powder foundation - lightweight yet provides adequate coverage. When layered on, the finish is more matte as compared to applying the makeup base alone. And, the finish is neither cakey nor powdery.

Here's my full-on makeup face.

This is how my face looked after 6 hours without blotting. Not too bad uh? I must say that I am really impressed by these two products. Nothing but raves for them! Needless to say, they are definitely worth to repurchase (:

Details on my LOTD will be up soon. Thank you for reading!
