Catrice Ultimate Nudes Nail Lacquer 05 Bonjour Chérie!

It is not easy to find a nude nail polish color that complements my skin tone. That's probably the reason why I seldom wear nudes on my nails. And, I find that most of them are too sheer for my liking.

Well, I may have just found my perfect nude...

Catrice Ultimate Nudes Nail Lacquer 05 Bonjour Chérie! is a creamy beige nude with pink undertones. This shade complements and flatters my skin tone, making it look fair and healthy-looking.

Bonjour Chérie means "Hello Darling".

The flat and wide brush (as seen HERE) makes application a breeze. It enables me to apply the nail polish easily, smoothly and evenly with just one stroke. No streaks!

The consistency is really smooth. And, it is not too runny, not too thick. I applied merely 2 coats for perfect coverage with high-shine finish (sans topcoat). I love how fast it dries (in a minute or so)!

This quick manicure lasted for about 4 days, with very slight tip wear.

Manicure/Pedicure Session @ Nail Tavern

Just last week, I had a pampering manicure and pedicure session at Nail Tavern. It had been a long while since I last did my mani/pedi, so I was super looking forward to it!

Nail Tavern is perfect for the easties, especially those staying in Bedok/Tanah Merah area.

 The nail salon has a cosy ambience, with comfortable chairs.

They provide an extensive range of services that include spa treatments, gelish manicure, paraffin wax, waxing, etc. And, they use only quality nail lacquers from brands like Opi and Orly. 

I opted for gel manicure and spa pedicure. 

Did not manage to take any photos of the process as my hands were busy being pampered :x

Well, what's more important is the outcome... right? I could not stop admiring my nails since last week. The manicurist really did a fabulous job! She was extremely careful and precise, especially with the nail art.

The spa pedicure was a pampering one, leaving my feet feel rejuvenated. My toe nails were then beautifully painted with OPI Suzi's Hungary Again (a bright warm pink IRL) thereafter. No bubbles or unevenness. And, no chips so far (6th day).

Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer 30 Lilactric

Catrice is a relatively new beauty brand (from Europe) that made its way to Singapore few months ago. The products are highly affordable, with nothing above S$15. Despite that, the quality is not compromised.

Last month, Catrice Singapore sent me a generous bag of goodies, with Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer 30 Lilactric being one of them.

Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer 30 Lilactric is a pretty pastel lilac with reflective gold shimmers.

I like the wide and flat brush, which allows me to apply evenly and smoothly with just one stroke.

It takes 2 coats of Lilactric for a full opaque finish. Here, I applied 3 coats of Lilactric with Poshe Super-Fast Drying Topcoat.

Well, even without the topcoat, it dries pretty fast with a shiny finish. No streaks or gloops!

At S$5.90, I think it is worth to check it out for the quality you are getting. And, don't forget their extensive makeup range!

Absolutely Nails

Few weeks ago, I headed to Absolutely Nails for a (one-time sponsored) classic mani/pedi session.


Absolutely Nails (previously known as Nailcoholics), is located at Marine Parade Central. Their services include Classic/French Manicure & Pedicure, 2D/3D Nail Art, Acrylic/Gel/Extension, etc.

Pardon the lack of photos. As I was there after an event, my hp/camera batteries were officially dead by then. 

Upon reaching Absolutely Nails, I was promptly served by Yaxin, who has been working there for more than 2 years. I like how meticulous she was, be it filing and buffing my nails, cutting my cuticles or scrubbing away the dead skin. She did a good job in painting my nails evenly as well. 


I initially wanted a pastel combo for my mani/pedi, but the color (nail polish) I wanted was dried up. She recommended this taupe color with a glittery tip, which look really good in my opinion.  


Instead of the usual square nails, I opted for oval nails as I was told that they will give the illusion of longer fingers. On a side note, pls ignore the blue stains... the woes of having blue hair (lol).


As for my feet, I chose this Tiffany blue. Absolutely love this color!

Overall, the service was commendable. Location-wise, it will be great for easties like me.

BYS Basic Colors Nail Enamel - Ruby Jewel x Pouty Purple

I'm lovin' the combination of my favorite colors on my nails right now! 

By the way, Xinyi was saying it looked like "Captain America" theme. It does look like it, no?

I used BYS Basic Colors Nail Enamel in Ruby Jewel and Pouty Purple. The tinge of silver-white glitters come from The Face Shop Nail Color BK902.

Ruby Jewel is a gorgeous fuchsia pink, with very fine micro-shimmers. The consistency is kinda thin and runny. It takes at least 3 coats for an opaque finish. I like the color, as it flatters my skin tone well.

As usual, I couldn't photograph the exact shade of purple. It is actually a dark magenta, with very fine micro-shimmers as well. The consistency is slightly less runny than Ruby Jewel. It also takes 3 coats for an opaque finish. 

In my opinion, they do not apply as smooth as BYS Color Change Nail Enamel in Orange, albeit still relatively easy to work with. Though I did not use any top coat, my painted nails still look shiny.

It has been 4 days since I painted my nails. And, I'm glad to say they are still looking good with very slight tip wear. No chipping so far.

BYS Color Change Nail Enamel in Orange ♥

BYS Color Change Nail Enamel in Orange, was one of the goodies given to me, at the BYS event.

Color Change is an interesting range of nail polishes, which changes color according to temperature (not so much of mood). It is quite fun to see the color shift as the temperature changes.

This was my 1st time painting my nails in all yellow. To be honest, I was not really feeling much for the color initially. Now, I can't take my eyes off my yellow nails! I didn't know that yellow can be so flattering on me *hehe~* :P

This color has an uncanny resemblance to the salted egg yolk filling in my favorite custard bun (流沙包). Ahh... feeling hungry already :S

I applied 3 coats of nail polish, to ensure complete opacity. The application is a breeze, very even and smooth. As you can see, not streaky or gloopy at all!

Each coat dries pretty fast, to a satin finish. I didn't apply any base or top coat, by the way. You can always apply a top coat, for a longer-lasting manicure.

In order to see the color change, I dipped my fingers into a glass of ice cold water. The color change is very obvious, isn't it? That's a pretty shade of orange!

Then, it started to shift back to yellow (the pinky already did lol).

Today is the 6th day. The chipping is very minor, only on 4 nails. It's hard to tell unless you get a really close scrutiny of them.

Now, I wished I have other colors to play with!

NOTD: Colorful BYS Nails

I mentioned earlier on, that BYS (nail colors) would be launched in Singapore, exclusively at Watsons. However, I couldn't seem to find the brand at Watsons. I was at the NAC outlet just a few days ago. Hmm... shall see if I can spot it on my next visit.

Anyway, they have a pretty substantial number of nail polishes of different colors and ranges. For now, only 4 nail polish ranges are available - Basics, Colour Change, Neons and Mirror Finish. 

It was fun trying on so many nail colors during the launch party. I applied 2 to 3 coats for each nail, for an opaque finish. They dry pretty fast, which eliminates the need of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

Here's what I painted on my nails (left hand), love the blue-green theme ♥ The glittery bits came from Diamond Glitter Aquamarine. 

Hmm... I didn't take note of the specific nail polish used for each nail though =.=

I love my blings, as usual :P

As for the nails on my right hand, I think the colors are pretty well-coordinated too. The glitters are super gorgeous IRL. The one I used was Glam Glitter Kinky Pink, a gel-like nail polish with large holographic glitters. Unfortunately, this is not available in Singapore as yet.

They were pretty long-lasting, lasted for a week or so. There were signs of minor chipping by Day 3.

I'll be featuring these goodies I received soon, starting from BYS Color Change Nail Enamel (my current fave nail color).
