A Different Purplish Red Look

I'm finally back to the blogosphere after almost a month of unannounced hiatus! Hmm... no thanks to my super hectic work schedule. Anyway, 3 weeks ago... I visited my hair sponsor for a new hair color... very happy with the end results (as usual)!

Do you realise something different about Matsui Hair Studio? See the beautiful artwork on the wall? Fyi, it was done by the talented students from NAFA! The colorful artwork adds a touch of vibrancy to the minimalist interior design of the hair studio.

As usual, here is a 'before' look of my hair. I know... I know... I am terrible at maintaining my hair condition. It was time for Dickson (my trusty hairstylist) to "save" my hair!

A selfie before trimming my hair... (that awkward smile)

Many selfies thereafter :x Ooo... my hair looks much better after snipping off the hair-ends!

Here's another selfie while waiting for Dickson as he was busy attending to another customer... :D

At this point of time, I simply couldn't wait to see the results... coz I knew perfectly well that the end results will be faaantastic baaaby! ♡

Tadah~! Love the temporary curls so much... I wished they were permanent :x

Maybe not... coz someone said that I look matured... =.=~

MATURED MEH?? I think my hair looks super duper nice in fact... *TSK*

Super love the contrasting tones (and red highlights) on my fringe!

I took many-many selfies... in memory of my beautiful temporary curled hairstyle ♡

I really must applaud Dickson for being so brilliantly talented... never fail to make my hair look so fabulous! It took him almost 5 hours to complete this look! It's all worthwhile (:

Shall let my selfies do the talking... :P

Special thanks to Matsui Hair Studio, Apple and Dickson! Remember to quote my name 'Verlyn' when you make appointment with Dickson and you will get 15% off hair service at Matsui Hair Studio

Introducing my new hair sponsor - Matsui Hair Studio!

About 2 weeks ago, I headed for my very first hair appointment at Matsui Hair Studio (my new hair sponsor!). Thanks Zerika for the recommendation (:

Matsui Hair Studio is founded by director, Matsui Akiyoshi, who is trained both locally and in Japan to bring the "Tokyo-street" style onto clients in Singapore.

It is conveniently located at level 3 of Bugis+ (#03-15).

The hair studio is well-lit, with a simple and clean-cut look. It has a really nice warm, comfy and cosy atmosphere.

The specially designed outdoor theme is perfect for customers to relax in a different kind of environment while enjoying a cup of hot coffee/tea.

They also have a comics corner for customers who love to read comics. Fret not, they do have 'up-to-date' magazines too.

Just look at the terribly dry and frizzy condition of my hair especially the brittle hair-ends... it does need S.O.S.! My appointed hairstylist, Dickson told me that my hair-ends were pretty damaged. And so, trimming them was inevitable.

Anyway, I just let him decide on the hair color and style. He started off with cutting my long fringe into bangs, which was what I had in mind. Well, great minds think alike! I also briefly mentioned to him that I want to keep my hair long and my hair color cannot be too bright due to work... blahblahblah...

Fyi, Matsui Hair Studio uses products from Arimino - a high quality reputable brand from Tokyo, Japan.

Some parts of my hair were bleached before adding fun colors to them.

Ooo... I kinda like how my hair looked after bleaching. heh.

Customers can get the Caretrico Privy Home Care series to enjoy the quality treatment at home.

If you want moisturized hair with a silky finish, do get the Moist Sleek variant.

If you prefer volumized hair with an airy finish, you should get the Airy Bounce variant.

If you have coarse/unruly hair, the Slim Through variant will help to smoothen the hair to become easily manageable.

The after effects of using the salon-use Moist Sleek Shampoo and Treatment!

No doubt, I was very satisfied with how my hair looks and feels after the hair pampering session... soooooo much healthier and no more frizzy-looking hair! Simply love the color contrast and vibrant hues on my hair, especially the purple and pink peeking out from within

Super duper loveeeeee!~

Here's a pic with my stylish-looking hairstylist, Dickson (: Many thanks for making my hair look soooooo good! Do look for him when you visit Matsui Hair Studio. He is super friendly and meticulous!

Receive tons of compliments on my new hair color/style! With my bangs and new hair color, I look at least 10 years younger :x

Once again, thank you Matsui Hair Studio, Apple and Dickson!

Here's a special promotion for my readers. Simply quote my name 'Verlyn' and you will get 15% off hair service at Matsui Hair Studio

What are you waiting for?! Book your appointment now :D

Kungfu Paradise “All-Day Breakfast Bonanza”

Recently, Kungfu Paradise came up with a new breakfast menu that features a range of classic favourites. Thanks to OpenRice, I had the opportunity to try them out!

KungFu Paradise, a casual "East-Meets-West" café that opens past midnight daily, features an affordable and extensive selection of Hong Kong-style classics, Asian delights, Western favourites, drinks and desserts to satiate cravings throughout the day and night. Currently, it has 4 outlets island wide >> Bedok Point, Sembawang Shopping Centre, JCube and Bugis+.

I'd been to the Bedok Point outlet, but not the others. This time, the food tasting session was held at Bugis+, a bigger outlet as compared to Bedok Point.

I think it is a great idea to have all-day breakfast as one can enjoy yummy breakfast any time!

Looks good right?! I tell you, they look as good in real life! Don't believe me? Scroll down and see for yourself...

Kay's Breakfast Combo - $11.80

I had the ultimate combo that comes with my all-time favorite sunny side up (I love eggs!), cheese sausage, turkey bacon, hash brown, toasted white bread, rocket salad with balsamic vinaigrette, sautéed button mushrooms and cherry tomatoes with pesto sauce.

Given the food quality, I was certainly very impressed. I mean... even the toasted white bread taste so good! I was expecting it to be hard and tasteless. Love the hash brown, which was like super yummy! I sound exaggerated but I'm not... it taste really different from the usual ones - super crispy yet not oily. I like the sautéed button mushrooms and cherry tomatoes - simple yet flavorful. The turkey bacon and cheese sausage were pretty tasty although I find them rather oily. Regardless, I finished everything except for the rocket salad... I don't like the raw bitter taste :X

Spanish Omelette - $8.80

Egg omelette with capsicum bits, onions, chicken chipolata & topped with tomato sauce
(+ rocket salad with balsamic vinaigrette)

Royal Rumble Scrambled Eggs - $10.80

Croissant with scrambled eggs, turkey bacon bits & chives
(+ rocket salad with balsamic vinaigrette, cherry tomatoes with pesto sauce & sautéed button mushrooms)

Eggs Benedict with Lemon Butter Sauce - $12.90

Poached eggs sit atop baked English muffins, with turkey bacon, ham & lemon butter sauce
(+ rocket salad with balsamic vinaigrette, cherry tomatoes with pesto sauce & sautéed button mushrooms)

Wafflelicious - $9.90

Apart from Kay's Breakfast Combo, I also tried a small portion of this picture-perfect Wafflelicious. See the generous servings of fresh strawberries and blueberries (+ canned peaches)! The waffles drizzled with strawberry sauce, taste normal to me. I prefer them to be crispy on the outside. Otherwise, it would be perfect.

As usual, I needed my caffeine fix... cappuccino!

Hmm... it taste okay though not fantastic. Well, I shall try their signature coffee (Kungfu Stylo Coffee) next time!

I shall end off the post with a photo of Elaine, yours truly and Herine. Food always taste better with good company!
