Sasa Flagship Store Official Opening @ Jurong Point

30th May 2012 marks the official opening of Sasa Sg's flagship store at Jurong Point. The event commenced at 9:30am, hence I woke up super early just for this event. The travelling time is no joke, at least 90mins. Well, it was definitely worth the trip.

Sasa Jurong Point is the largest store (over 4,000 sqft) in Singapore, which carries over 10,000 products and brands from all over the world. Being one of the pioneers in beauty here in Asia, Sasa Sg offers the widest array of Asia beauty brands.

Review: Neogence ACE Revitalizing and Brightening Series

In this post, I'll be reviewing part of Neogence ACE Revitalizing and Brightening Series (Thanks Sasa Sg!). The reviews for Ace Revitalizing Eye Serum, Ace Renewal & Repairing Mask, Ace Pore Concealing & Revitalizing Base Gel will come later.

The products I'll be reviewing:-

Ace Intensive Whitening Lotion

• Refreshing and reactivate sebum mechanism
• Promote follow-up effective ingredient absorption
• Block melanin formation and dark spots

 

After cleansing, I pour an appropriate amount of Ace Intensive Whitening Lotion onto a cotton pad then pat it onto face. Alternatively, you can do without the cotton pad. This will help supply moisture and restart skin in a healthy, balanced condition.

The lotion has a pleasant floral scent (chamomillia recutitta flower extract). It has a really watery texture and gets absorbed so quickly into skin. No signs of sticky/greasy feel. No irritation as well. Very refreshing and soothing, in fact.

My skin is all ready to effectively absorb the "goodness" of the serum and hydrating fluid!

 

Ace Liposome Renewal Whitening Serum

• Ace patent renewal factor
• Liposome encapsulated transmission
• Reducing dark spots and pores

 

Ace Liposome Renewal Whitening Serum is to be applied BEFORE Ace Revitalizing Hydrating Fluid to recuperate the skin. 2-3 drops is enough for the face and neck.

It contains fragrance, which explains why the floral scent is a lil' stronger than that of the lotion.

The serum has a runny consistency and feels slightly slimy. I massage thoroughly with fingertips, which helps to improve the ability of absorption and skin firmness. True enough, it gets absorbed pretty easily into skin. Skin feels soft, smooth and supple albeit the initial slightly sticky feel. Fortunately, the stickiness doesn't linger for long. No irritation.

 

Ace Revitalizing Hydrating Fluid

• Skin revitalizing and brightening
• Anti-wrinkle and lifting
• Water keeping and moisturizing

 

The amount of Ace Revitalizing Hydrating Fluid I use on my face and neck, is as shown above. Comes with a spatula for hygiene purpose. After using the lotion (supply moisture) and serum (recuperate skin), I massage thoroughly with fingertips, which helps to improve the ability of absorption and skin firmness.

This has a different floral scent (punica granatum flower extract), and contains fragrance as well.

It has a refreshing lightweight gel texture, which gets absorbed super quickly and easily into the skin. It hydrates and moisturizes my skin pretty well. Skin feels rejuvenated and more radiant than before.

3 weeks is obviously not enough to gauge the effectiveness of the products (judging from the before & after pic). Well, I did notice that my complexion has become slightly brighter than before. Overall, I enjoy using these 3 products as they don't feel too rich (overwhelming) for my combination skin. And, I have not experience any adverse skin reaction so far.

The moment I received this mascara, I was particularly drawn to the pretty doll image (on the packaging). The next thing I noticed was that the mascara tube was slightly longer than that of the usual ones. This mascara is battery-operated, and the battery compartment is located at the top of cap.

Like Cyber Colors Ex Volume Waterproof Mascara, the brush head is bendable (easy to comb through the lashes throughly). I absolutely appreciate the single start/stop button, unlike the Maybelline Pulse Perfection Vibrating Mascara (need to press & hold the button to activate the vibration. extremely tiring for my fingers!).

After taking out the insulation spacer (at the battery compartment area), press button once to activate rotation. Press again to stop rotation. When you press the button once again, the brush will rotate in the opposite direction. That means if you start with clockwise direction, this time will be anti-clockwise.

Note: Clockwise (top eyelashes), Anti-clockwise (bottom eyelashes)

 

Took a short video (5 days ago), to demo how the mascara works on my top eyelashes (left eye). Not easy to film (with iPhone) and apply the mascara simultaneously. Fyi, I didn't curl my eyelashes prior application.

This mascara has the familiar scent of my HG Sasatinnie Super Dolly Powerful Curling Mascara - Black! Well, it's the same brand :D The intensity of black is the same; super duper black!

The mascara formula is slightly wet, hence don't blink when it's still wet. I applied just 1 coat for both sides (top & bottom). 2 coats is more than enough. The rotating brush enables the spiky bristles to catch every single eyelash for intense definition. It visibly curls, lengthens and volumizes my eyelashes pretty well, albeit a lil' clumpy (on close-up scrutiny). It doesn't smudge or flake on me. Yes, it's waterproof! However, I've no difficulty removing it. An oil-based makeup remover will do the trick!

All in all, I enjoy the novelty of a 360˚ rotating mascara. It does live up its claims on creating that luscious eyelashes in double-quick time.

The bottle design is tastefully elegant. Delivers the perfect essence of love, romance & allure.

The fragrance intrigues me with its unique yet unpretentious scent. The start is a fresh citrus (fruity top notes: bergamot & guava), which reminds me fondly of D&G Light Blue. Then it soon becomes more of a gentle sweet floral; predominantly feminine (heart notes: gardenia, frangipani & orange blossom). It concludes with potently sensual base notes, warm sandalwood with enticing touches of vanilla and sparkling musk.

Jus de Fleurs smells great on my skin. I love how it ends with a creamy note; warm & soft. It doesn't last very long though, prolly about 2-3 hours at most (eau de toilette). There's no reason to dislike this lovely girly fragrance. Perfect for ladies in their 20s and 30s.

LOTD: Smoky Browns

Here's the smoky look I did, using DOT DOT Smoky Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette (featured HERE).

The close-up eye look, without mascara. I filled my brow gaps using Majolica Majorca Customize Sword Cut BR771.

No eye primer was used. I used deep chocolate brown (cream) from the DOT DOT palette (as the lid base), and layered on the darkest brown from Lavshuca Star Decoration Eyes BR-2. Then, I applied the medium brown (Lavshuca) on the eye contour, and dusted the gold shimmer shade (DOT DOT) over it.

Using the pearl white shimmer (DOT DOT) & the lightest brown (Lavshuca), I used 'em to highlight brow bone, inner corner of eye & dust some onto 1/3 of the inner lower lashline.

I lined about 1/3 of the outer lower lashline, using K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyeliner (Black). Then, I layered on the darkest brown (Lavshuca). Using the same eyeliner, I lined the upper lashline and extended it beyond the lashline.

I curled my lashes and applied 3 layers of Cyber Colors Ex Volume Waterproof Mascara in Black (1 layer for my lower lashes).

YES, 3! I coat them fast enough, to avoid clumps. So, the key is to work your wand fast! (CLICK HERE for review)

Again, I used Maybelline Moisture Extreme 914 Iced Peach Tea for my lips.

Works well with the smoky look, no?

For my face, I used Sasa HD Perfect Foundation 02 Warm Ivory and Lioele Real Crystal Twin Cake 02. On my cheeks, Canmake Powder Cheeks in PW20. (Forgot to include Murad Skin Perfecting Primer - Matte Finish!)
