Getting Waxed @ Beauty Affairs

This was not my 1st time getting waxed (down there) BUT I was still feeling nervous AND scared about it. I almost wanted to say "no" to this Brazilian Wax invite by Herine (Beauty Affairs). Well, almost. In the end, I plucked up my courage and made the appointment. 

Beauty Affairs is located at 27 Purvis Street #01-02. It's a short walk from Bugis MRT station.

Actually, it's quite near to a number of MRT stations.

The wax services they offer is very comprehensive!

Underarms, Half arms, full arms, half leg, full legs, fingers and toes, facial waxing, eye brows waxing, upper lip + chin waxing, chest waxing, back waxing, back & shoulder waxing, tummy waxing, normal basic bikini line, x-spot / g-spot, buttocks waxing, high low bikini line, traditional Brazilian and full Monte/Hollywood.

I was led to the waxing room by my therapist, Jerlyn. Her name is so easy to remember! *heh~*

PS: There's locker(s) to keep your belonging(s).

Before the waxing procedure, she will first prepare the area (to be waxed) by applying the pre-waxing cleansing & sanitization. The waxing took half an hour... she made sure that I feel okay at all times. Truth be told, it was pretty painful in my case. Hmm... the pain was bearable, not excruciating kind. She explained that my hairs were thick... that's why =.=

If you're a 1st timer whose hair are fine, you shouldn't feel much pain.

After waxing, she applied this soothing gel (the green tube in the image above) that reduces redness of the skin. It is advisable to go for waxing monthly. The more often you wax, the better. The re-growth hair gets softer, thinner and weaker over time. Pls do not shave as it only removes hair on the surface and the re-growth hair gets coarser instead.

Wax XXX - Perfect Pink

This beautiful pink wax is formulated with titanium dioxide, an anti-irritant and also known to enhance the skin’s natural protection from damaging UV rays. The creamy texture forms a flexible application that allows gentle removal. This wax is most suitable for short coarse hairs, for use on face, underarms, bikini and Brazilian.

The lanolin in the wax soothes the skin during the wax.

Wax XXX - Perfect Blue

The strong polymers in formulation allows for flexibility without getting brittle or breaking. Very suitable for long hairs in all areas. Due to low temperature, applications may be applied on the different areas to cut down waxing time significantly.

This soothing wax is formulated with the scent of the rose. The strong polymers in this formulation allows for flexibility during application. It does not get brittle or break during the removal. Very suitable for all hairs, even the shortest hairs in all areas.

What should you avoid before and after a waxing treatment?

• If you are using accutane, or any other anti-acne drugs, Please consult with your doctor before a wax, these medications can sometimes thin the skin which can cause skin to be removed with the wax.

• If you are using RetinA, you should not wax the area being treated.

• Do not swim, suntan or work out right before or after a wax as this could cause the skin to breakout.

• You are advised to give yourself a scrub 8 hours before, on the area being treated, this will help reduce ingrown.

Okay that's just my "moustache" :X I didn't take any photo of the hairs down there of coz (lol).

Anyway, I did an inpromptu upper lip waxing after my Brazilian waxing. Not painful at all. It took less than 5 mins to completely remove the hairs.

I feel that waxing is definitely a great way to get rid of those unwanted hairs (from head to toe). I notice that the re-growth hairs are definitely much softer and lesser. It feels nice that it's "clean" down there... no worries about unsightly bumps or ingrown hairs. My time-of-the-month is much easier to handle - no more messy period(s)!
