L'oreal Paris Extraordinary Oil

Back in April (when my hair was still blue), I was introduced to the Extraordinary Oil by L'oreal Paris via a bloggers event held at Fullerton Hotel.

Upon reaching the hotel suite, we were greeted by golden yellow balloons (the color of the product packaging) & red rose petals. Well, rose is one of the precious flower extracts the Extraordinary Oil contains. The others include:- Flax, Tiare, Lotus, Chamomile and Matricaria.

6 Rare Flower Oils, 1 Extraordinary Treatment...

  • Nourishes & protects
  • Brilliantly shines
  • Amazingly light
  • Exceptionally softens
  • Sumptuously Smoothens
  • Suitable for all hair types

The Extraordinary Oil is housed in a heavy glass bottle, which comes with an easy-to-use pump dispenser. Very classy indeed.

One thing bad, the heavy glass bottle makes it not so travel-friendly.

Anyway, there are 3 ways to use the Extraordinary Oil...

Pre-shampoo treatment
Hmm... this is rather interesting as it is something new to me. Anyway, by doing so, my hair feels deeply nourished thereafter.

Heat protectant before blow-drying or hairstyling (eg. using a hair straightener)
It primes and integrally protects my hair from the heat.

Finishing touch on dry hair
It gives my hair a lustrous shine without weighing it down, keeping it nourished all day long.

Here's an example of before and after applying the Extraordinary Oil as a finishing touch on my dry frizzy hair ends. I just need 1.5 pumps for my (almost) shoulder-length hair. If you have long hair, 2 to 3 pumps should suffice. Before applying to the hair ends, do remember to rub the oil in between your hands so that the heat will activate it.

It instantly tames the frizziness and smoothens my hair, making it so much more manageable than before. My hair feels really soft and smooth to touch. I can run my fingers through my hair effortlessly.

I really like how fast it gets absorbed into the hair, without leaving any greasy or sticky feel aftermath (though the hair oil feels really rich). It leaves my hair lightly fragranced; a very pleasant musky floral scent.

Here are more photos taken at the event.

Dessert Frenzy! Saveur + Honeymoon Dessert

After having lunch brunch at Lim Seng Lee Duck Rice Eating House, Estelle suggested having dessert at Saveur. I heard so much about this affordable French restaurant, how tasty their food is, esp. the signature Saveur's Pasta and Duck Leg Confit. Their desserts also won the hearts of many. How can I not try right?!

And so, we went to the new outlet at Far East Plaza. They have another outlet at Purvis Street, which was their first.

They offer only 4 desserts, great for indecisive people like me (lol). Me being a chocolate lover, I naturally went for Chocolate and Hazelnut [chocolate mousse with crushed hazelnuts, broken raspberries, roasted rice puffs, chocolate tuile & praline] @ $7.90.

Ooo... the dessert presentation was already a delightful sight. It sure tasted as good as it looked! A sinful indulgence indeed. I was literally in chocolate heaven!

It had just the right sweetness. And, the raspberries complement the taste of the fudgy chocolate really well. It was sooo good, I nearly wanna lick the plate clean (lololol) :X

MAJOR LOVE!!

Estelle had Textures of Citrus [blood orange jelly with orange granite, freeze-dried pineapple, feuilletine, citrus segments & lime zest] @ $6.90. Hers was a citrusy explosion. I tasted a mouthful. Hmm... the sour taste was acceptable, not too sour. I much prefer mine :d~

Later in the evening, we had dessert AGAIN after some shopping. Hmm... I think we ate ALOT that day O_O!!

We headed to Honeymoon Dessert at 313 Somerset for traditional dessert. I had Sweet Ball & Sweet Potato Soup (Hot) @ $3+ (I think)... correct me if I'm wrong. Woohooo~! Love the spicy taste of ginger soup that warms up my tummy :P~

Anything with sweet potato is... YUMMY! Not to mention, my all-time favorite tang yuan (rice balls)!

The tang yuan here taste different from the usual ones. They have this nice QQ texture, perfectly chewy and springy. Not exaggerating one bit! And, the peanut filling is savory instead of sweet!

A MUST TRY!

Ending this post with a photo of me and Estelle (:

Egokawa Sweetie Eye Lash [Natural Curl & Volume Up]

When it comes to fake lashes, I am no expert. Hence, I usually stick to my trusty mascara(s). Nowadays, I try my very-very best to be less lazy and put on fake lashes. Hmm... once in a month as compared to once in a blue moon? :X

Egokawa Sweetie Eye Lash comes in a box of 2 sets of fake lashes plus a mini creamy lash glue (thrown away).

It stinks really-really badly and it does not seem to dry. Basically, it was useless as the fake lashes cannot stick on at all.

The criss-cross fake lashes are plasticky, which have a graduated length from the inner to the outer ends. They are slightly voluminous at the outer halves.

The lash bone is easy to bend as it is not that stiff... slightly harder than those really soft kind.

I find them relatively light and easy to apply.

Hmm... I did not bother to trim the fake lashes to fit my eye length. I think the length looks okay for me?

Honestly speaking, it does get a lil' uncomfortable if I wear these fake lashes for too long. My eyes get irritated and start to tear =.=~~ Not used to them maybe?

Here's a photo of pretty Elaine & me at the Guess event, some time ago. Love these super clear photos taken by her camera! Credits to her for these nice (unmarked) photos

From far, the fake lashes do look somewhat natural. I like the naturally curled up lashes and the volumized look. Even with minimal eye makeup (actually just eyeliner on the lower lashline), my eyes look "properly dressed" :P

Missing my blue-blue hair (by Chisato - Shunji Matsuo 313) :P

Hope the review helps. Thank you for reading!

Egokawa Sweetie Eye Lash retails for $14.90, exclusively available at Haraju-Cute counters at selected Guardian stores.

Vichy Bi-White Med

Thanks to Herine, I got to attend Vichy Bi-White Med event held at Paris Baguette.

Prior this event, I did try several products from Vichy, the Normaderm range to be specific... and also their Thermal Spa Water. My 1st Vichy event, by the way.

At the event, we were introduced to Vichy Bi-White Med, a skincare range that deeply whitens and detoxifies. Even sensitive skin like mine can use! Well, it contains Thermal Spa Water (known to be soothing and fortifying). Most importantly, it is hypoallergenic, paraben-free and non comedogenic! Kudos to that!

Vichy Bi-White Med Deep Corrective Whitening Essence ($82) targets flaws like:

√ dark spots
√ dull complexion
√ yellow skin tone
√ irregular skin texture
√ red patches
√ dryness patches

Deep Cell-Whitening
  • depigments cells deeper in the epidermis

DRM-White
  • targets melanin in even deeper skin layers

It has a lightweight consistency, which is easy to spread on the skin and gets absorbed real fast. The skin is well hydrated, plump and smooth thereafter. No sticky or greasy feel at all.

With regular use, the complexion becomes more even, significantly brighter and fairer. Brown spots are visibly reduced, revealing flawless transparency and luminosity from deep within.

Vichy Bi-White Med Whitening Replumping Gel Cream ($59) features an exclusive 24H moisturizing formula combining:

  • Whitening breakthough DRM-White associated with Deep Cell-Whitening to illuminate skin from the inside
  • Purifying Peony to detoxify skin and free it from flaws (love the soothing floral scent!)

It targets dullness, complexion flaws and dehydration. The not-too-rich gel-cream consistency makes it perfect for day use. The skin is well hydrated, radiantly plumped, soft and smooth thereafter.

With regular use, intense flawless luminosity is unveiled. No more dull-looking skin. The complexion looks more transparent and radiant than before.

We were also introduced to the Vichy Bi-White Med Night Whitening Renewing Sleeping Cream ($69) that is specially formulated to infuse skin with a high dose of vitamin Cg and balance oils to protect the skin against external aggressions even when you are asleep!

I shall spam the rest of this post with photos of the yummilicious food (mainly desserts) and beverage(s) served at Paris Baguette :X

Let the photos do the talking

And, we were also given these cute hp charm(s). Mine was the starry one but I exchanged with Herine for the heart locket

Love this limited edition pink metallic tin box

Vichy can be found at Guardian, Watsons, and Unity pharmacies.
