Bifesta Konnyaku Revolution

It has been a long-long while since I last blogged... and... I'm back with a review! 

If you don't already know, Bifesta is one of the few trusted makeup remover brands that I normally use. They have recently launched the new Konnyaku jelly format that treats skin so gently while removing makeup and oil from the deepest pores.

The prettily packaged jelly makeup removers come in 3 formulas to address different skincare and beauty needs. Guess which is my fave? 

What is Konnyaku?

It is also known as Konjac; a plant that is well known as a health food due to is dietary fibre and moisture content.

It is also popular as a beauty product thanks to its smooth, soft texture and effective, gentle cleansing ability.

Thanks to its smooth jelly-like texture, it cushions your delicate skin against cleansing motion without causing undue friction and tugging.

How to use?

Dispense a cherry-sized amount onto palms and spread evenly over face. Massage gently and thoroughly to remove and lift away makeup. Rinse off well with water.

The Konnyaku jelly ingredient feels really gentle on the skin. It glides easily on skin and leaves no oily after-feel. The Konnyaku exfoliants do not feel harsh on my sensitive skin at all. My skin feels thoroughly cleansed, smooth and clear thereafter. Glad that there is no redness, itchiness or whatsoever.

By the way, do use a separate eye makeup remover as this is only meant to be used for the face.

How to use?

Dispense a cherry-sized amount onto palms and spread evenly over face. Massage gently and thoroughly to remove and lift away makeup. Rinse off well with water.

This is my fave of the three. It feels gentler on the skin, as compared to the scrub variant. However, it has a higher cleansing ability thanks to the Okinawa sea clay ingredient. This lovely ingredient deep cleanses and absorbs excess sebum stuck in pores to reveal clearer skin. My skin does not feel too squeaky clean thereafter. 

I tried using it to remove my light eye makeup (just waterproof eyeliner)... and it removes really well! It is so gentle that it does not sting the eyes.

How to use?

Dispense about 2 pumps onto palms and spread evenly over face. Massage gently and thoroughly to remove and lift away makeup. Rinse off well with water (preferably warm).

To me, this is more of a cleansing oil than liquid. Well, it contains natural orange oil. But it does not feel as oily as the conventional cleansing oils. 

If you are lazy to use a a separate eye makeup remover, this is the right one for you. It dissolves all your face makeup, even hard-to-remove waterproof mascara.

Available at all leading supermarkets, personal care stores, western pharmacies and departmental stores.

Bifesta Water-Based Cotton Cleansing Sheets

Some time ago, Bifesta launched yet another makeup removal product - Water-Based Cotton Cleansing Sheets. These highly convenient water-based cotton cleansing sheets are free of oil, coloring and fragrance. They remove makeup, tone and moisturize the skin at the same time.

Available in 2 variants:- 

• Moisturizing >> for normal - dry skin
• Pore-tightening >> for oily - combination skin

I like that it comes with a lid, which prevents the cleansing sheets from drying out.

The cotton cleansing sheet is relatively thin, and the texture feels somewhat like Kodomo baby wipes. As seen from the image above, the cleansing sheet (150mm x 200mm) is a big piece! When removed from the packet, it does not feel too wet. I only need 1pc to remove my base makeup since it is unable to remove waterproof mascaras especially brands like Fairy Drops, Majolica Majorca, etc. A packet of 46 sheets can last me for about a month or so.

After using the wipe(s), my skin feels instantly fresh and non-sticky. It feels quite moisturizing and most importantly, it does not irritate my skin. My skin can be quite sensitive at times. Although it states that there is no need to rinse/wash face after using the wipe(s), I still do so as I prefer double-cleansing. My last step (optional) will be using Bioderma Crealine H2O Solution Micellaire Cleanser.

I find that there is not much difference between the Pore-tightening and Moisturizing variants. The former contains witch hazel for tightening pores, while the latter contains ceramide-like ingredients for moisturizing. Overall, I enjoy using them especially on days when I am lazy to wash my face or simply when I need to freshen up. So convenient and yet very affordable!

Bifesta Eye Makeup Remover

If you don't already know, Bifesta was previously known as Cleansing Express (Japan's 1st water-based makeup remover brand). In this post, I'll be reviewing the gentle yet powerful Eye Makeup Remover that I started using recently.

After shaking the bottle, this is how it looks...

Why do I need to shake well before use? This is to activate the bi-phase formula to remove eye makeup quickly and gently. The emollient layer (above) containing Vitamin E, helps remove the waterproof eye makeup. As for the water base (below) containing Vitamin B, it wraps oil and sebum.

How to use? After shaking well, I pour the makeup remover onto cotton pad -- making sure it's adequately soaked. I hold on to about 20-30s before wiping off.

Verdict:

True enough, Bifesta Eye Makeup Remover does live up to its claims - gentle yet powerful! With a single wipe, it removes waterproof eye makeup thoroughly without tugging (no eyelash fall-outs!). For super stubborn waterproof mascara, I'll need to do it twice at most. I like that it doesn't sting my eyes, no signs of irritation. I also like that my eye area feels refreshed after makeup removal, with no greasy or sticky residue. Btw, this can be used to remove lip makeup as well.

It retails for $12.90 (145ml), which is a pretty affordable price to pay for such an effective product (in my opinion). I like it very-very much! This is a definite repurchase for me ♥
