Estetica ést.lab LumiWhite Brightening Facial Scrub

After a month of unannounced hiatus, I am back with a skincare review! There will be more to come... too many backlogs :x

Anyway, I received this tub of Estetica ést.lab LumiWhite Brightening Facial Scrub for review (via Cozycot) back in Nov.

According to EsteticaLumiWhite Brightening Facial Scrub gently exfoliates dead surface cells and impurities, to reveal a visibly smoother and fairer complexion.

There is no direct contact with the facial scrub, since it comes in an airless pump jar (as shown in the above pic). This is indeed more hygienic, and also ensures that the product is kept sealed and fresh.

You just need to pump once... and voila!

This is how I've been using LumiWhite Brightening Facial Scrub for the past one month:

After cleansing with my usual facial foam, I pumped once and apply the facial scrub on damp skin. Then, I’ll massage my face gently in circular motion avoiding the sensitive eye area. Lastly, I’ll rinse thoroughly.

For maximum results, use twice a week (no more than that pls!). However, I only use once a week since my skin is pretty sensitive skin.

LumiWhite Brightening Facial Scrub has a creamy clay-like texture with tiny exfoliating bits. I find that it takes a bit more effort to rinse off thoroughly, as the consistency is slightly thick. Though my skin is sensitive, those tiny exfoliating bits do not feel too harsh when massaging the facial scrub on my skin. The key is to be gentle when massaging.

After exfoliating, my skin does not feel irritated, tight or dry. My complexion is noticeably clearer, brighter and smoother. And, skincare products get better absorbed into skin thereafter.

You can purchase Estetica ést.lab LumiWhite Brightening Facial Scrub (30ml) at S$62 HERE

Thank you for reading!

Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Relaxing Cream

Like it or not, I'm hitting my 30s in less than 2 years time. From breakouts (in the past) to fine lines (as of now) to wrinkles (in the future *SIGH*), I can't seem to stop worrying about my skin. My endless pursuit of good complexion, relentlessly feeding my skin with various skincare products.

Anyway, in this post, I'll be talking about this advanced anti-aging product by Olay - Regenerist Wrinkle Relaxing Cream.

Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Relaxing Cream diminishes the appearance of wrinkles in just one application. It works by utilizing optics-based skincare to smooth skin's surface by filling the "valleys" between fine lines and wrinkles with a breakthrough proprietary blend of 3 different sizes of optical powders that smoothen the skin.

Not only is Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Relaxing Cream a quick-fix wrinkle minimizer, it also decreased the volume of deep eye lines by 20% after 14 days of twice-daily treatments. The high concentration of intense humectants in the formula also enables skin to be suppler to expression lines, which slows down their progression to permanent lines and wrinkles.

How to use?
After cleansing, apply Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Relaxing Cream on face and neck, focusing on areas with wrinkles. Use this day and night.

***For best results, apply Olay Regenerist Microsculpting Serum evenly on the face, neck and décolletage prior applying Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Relaxing Cream.***

It comes in a sleek silver pump bottle, with a metallic red cap. To dispense the product, you got to remove the black rectangulish stopper and lightly press the pump.

Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Relaxing Cream has a gel-cream consistency with a silicone feel. It doesn't feel overly rich, which is easy to apply and spread on the skin. Most importantly, it smoothen my skin instantly, subtly blurring the fine lines and pores.

By the way, it is heavily scented. Hmm... it smells like those salon hair shampoo/conditioner, pleasant but unnecessary. Well, the scent does dissipate shortly after application.

If you don't already know, Olay is having a Moneyback campaign HERE. If you are not satisfied with the product, you get your money back (receipt is required).

Having tried the product for a week, I'm quite satisfied with Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Relaxing Cream since it doesn't cause any breakouts or clogged pores so far. I think it works well as a light silicone-based primer for powder foundation, which is pretty similar to Sampar Glamour Shot. I like it enough to say "NO" to this Moneyback campaign.

That's all for now. Thank you for reading!

Introducing Sampar - Glamour Shot, Glamour Shot Eyes, Equalizing Foam Peel

Thanks to Cozycot, I was introduced to Sampar, a Parisian skin care brand dedicated to the city dwellers looking for modern alternative skin care treatments.

Here's the full size Glamour Shot [30ml] that was provided for review. It claims to minimize wrinkles and imperfections in 1 min.

Here's the ingredient list, for reference.

Glamour Shot

It is the break-through introduction to Cosmakeup, an avant-garde concept that promises the experience and the result of make up with the simplicity of skin care.

According to Sampar, Glamour Shot is the 1st transparent foundation that

  • instantly corrects wrinkles
  • masks enlarged pores, redness and imperfections
  • smooths skin texture and mattifies the complexion

Avant-garde Technology

  • HQA Microlens, newest generation of soft focus, fill in furrows and lines so that light is reflected off the skin homogeneously, visually erasing imperfections and illuminating the face.
  • Oat Extract provides an optimal and immediate lifting action.
  • Encapsulated Hyaluronic Acid enables targeting of wrinkles and fine lines from within and plumps the face for a long-term antiwrinkles action.
  • Urban Advance Complex, powerful anti-oxidant shield, the metabolic skin trigger reactivates the vital functions of the skin.

How to use?

  • After moisturizing, apply a small quantity of Glamour Shot by smoothing uniformly onto the face from the inside to the outside.
  • Apply Glamour Shot before make-up (powder, blush), taking care to let dry first.
  • May also be applied at any time of day on make-up.

NOTE: It is not compatible with liquid foundation.

I also received Equalizing Foam Peel, Glamour Shot Eyes in sample size.

- Ingredient list of Equalizing Foam Peel -

Equalizing Foam Peel

According to Sampar, this is the star product - a foaming and cleansing peeling treatment [formulated without particles or artificial colors] that gives you healthy, radiant complexion and moisturized skin.

  • brightens the skin by removing unhealthy and dead skin cells
  • stimulates new cell growth to ease away fine lines and wrinkles
  • boosts the skin's natural defense

Main ingredients

The probiotic enzymes soothe wrinkles and fine lines by a natural exfoliation. They deeply regenerate the epidermis. The essential oils (lavender, sage, savory, thyme and geranium) detoxify, soothe and rebalance tired skin.

How to use?

  • Apply to the face, twice a week avoiding the eye contour.
  • Leave on for 2 mins.
  • Then, add water and rub into skin with fingertips. Rinse thoroughly.

- Ingredient list of Glamour Shot Eyes -

Glamour Shot Eyes

It is the 1st transparent under-eye corrector that brightens and smooths the eye area in 1 min.

  • instantly erases dark circles and puffiness
  • brightens the dark areas around the eye
  • blurs under-eye wrinkles and fine lines
  • provides a long-lasting anti-wrinkles action

It has an exceptional formula which has the avant-garde technology of Glamour Shot [HQA Microlens, Oat Extract, Encapsulated Hyaluronic Acid and Urban Advance Complex] + MIB Complex [helps eliminate puffiness and dark circles, thanks to its anti-oedematous, anti-inflammatory and veinotonic properties].

How to use?

  • After fully moisturizing the eye contour, dab a bit of product under the eye with the applicator.
  • Lightly tap with fingertips until the product is completely absorbed.
  • Apply makeup after 5 minutes.

NOTE: It is not intended for use with liquid foundation.

Here's my thoughts based on one-time use...

- swatch of Glamour Shot -

Both Glamour Shot and Glamour Shot Eyes have an initial smooth serum-like consistency (face and eye respectively), which becomes creamier and silicone-like, upon application on skin. They are lightweight. However, they've this pretty strong chemical scent, with Glamour Shot being slightly stronger. Thankfully, the scent does go away after a while.

Immediate results can be seen - skin looks mattified and "fine lines" are instantly filled up, looking smoother. I don't think I need to fill you in which finger I applied Glamour Shot (:

On the face and undereye area, the difference is clear with Sampar. The undereye area looks brighter, with fine lines being blurred. It's like applying photoshop in real life.

On the face, my skin is instantly mattified, looking smoother and brighter. I won't say that my imperfections are 100% masked, at least 75%? I can wear it alone or apply a thin layer of powder foundation for better coverage. My skin stays nicely matte for about 3 to 4 hours, without a need to blot my face.

As for the Equalizing Foam Peel, it has the strongest chemical scent of the three. It feels quite mild, since it doesn't sting the skin. My skin does look slightly radiant after use.

That's all for now. Thank you for reading! TGIF (:

COVERMARK Moisture Veil LX Swatch + Redeem Free Samples

Recently, I attended The COVERMARK Workshop conducted by Ms Akemi Senoo (Japanese Makeup Artist & Beauty Commentator). It was a public event, where consumers register to learn expert base makeup and skincare application tips. For invited bloggers, the workshop was complimentary. Thanks Cozycot for the invite.

At the workshop, we were introduced to COVERMARK Moisture Veil LX, a foundation that makes skin look more beautiful over time. The powder does not break down or darken. COVERMARK has adopted a breakthrough formula that converts sebum (oil) into film to make skin look luminous and moisturized.

It has a melt-into-skin formula >> foundation blends into skin easily in terms of both color and texture. The 4 effects - clear color powder, soft luster powder, porous beads and moisture coating formula, make the powder feels just like part of your skin. The moment you apply and spread onto skin, it feels like air, providing natural coverage for your imperfections.

To protect your skin from dryness, it contains plant extracts >> ginseng, litchi chinensis, chinese angelica, aloe, mulberry bark, beechen. It also contains SPF32 PA+++ for sun protection.

The sponge material contains egg shell film (webbed protein fiber containing lots of amino acids). The sponge texture is so fine that it is able to spread the foundation powder thinly and evenly on the skin.

COVERMARK Moisture Veil LX spreads well on the skin, adheres and covers well. It has a natural finish, not too thick or powdery.

Fyi, it comes in 8 shades. The bigger the number, the darker the color.

  • P - pinkish finish
  • N - natural finish
  • O - ochre finish

This mini "face" sheet mask was flown all the way from Japan! The cutest mask ever!

Wanna try COVERMARK?

Day 1: Cozycot International Women's Day 2011

Just hours ago, I attended Cozycot International Women's Day 2011. This event started at 2pm. I arrived at 2 plus, and there was already a huge crowd. Apparently, it's open to public since it's not enclosed. The previous Cozycot event I attended was not open to public. The 1st hour was spent on going around, collecting 10 stamps to redeem the goodie bag (value up to $300??). The queues for some booths were particularly long, seriously. Dislike long queues :/

Now, you get what I meant by huge crowd and long queues eh.

Eye-candy award goes to Paul Foster, of coz! Sadly, there wasn't any sexy segment this time :x

The new hair-style suits him much :3

While waiting for the 5pm show I registered for, I went to B1 and grabbed Gong Cha Milk Tea with Herbal Jelly! Like the taste of this weird combination but 80% not sweet enough for me. I should have ordered 100%!

And so, this was the only show I registered - Performance by: Jones Ong. I guess many ain't familiar with this S'porean singing artiste. CLICK HERE to join his official FB fanpage. After 5 years, he's finally back.

"Breaking into the Taiwanese entertainment scene with his debut album Firelight in 2005, the singer had been well-received by the audience......" CLICK HERE to read this article by xinmsn.

All in all, he performed 3 songs:

  • 另一种温暖
  • Sexy Lady
  • 不完美的完美

My favorite is the 3rd song (: His vocals are very powerful (love his singing since many years ago). Well, he'd truly come a long way. Hope that he'll make it this time. 加油!~

Hmm he's not that well-versed in English. That doesn't matter since his singing is really awesome!

JONES 石康鈞

Enjoy his music videos (:
