LOTD / Review: The Rose of Versailles - Princess Antoinette Liquid Eyeliner (Dark Brown)

[Haraju-Cute Box - Japan Cosme #1]

While there are many different brands of black liquid eyeliners, brown ones are pretty scarce. That's probably why I was particularly drawn to this liquid eyeliner by The Rose of Versailles

The Rose of Versailles - Princess Antoinette Liquid Eyeliner (Dark Brown) is exclusively available at Haraju-Cute counters at selected Guardian stores.

Retail price: $24.90

It is interesting to know that the liquid eyeliner contains moisturizing agents like lipidure, wild rose essence and rose water. And, the bottle is specially adopted for use till the last drop.

As seen, no fanciful packaging (dark brown body with gold wordings and rose motif). I like the simplicity.

It has a 0.1mm ultra thin brush tip, which makes it easy to draw thinly and precisely. For fresher color, do shake lightly before application.

The brush tip is soft, which is gentle on the delicate skin of the eye area. However, it applies on smoothly though it feels slightly ticklish. Fret not, it does not irritate at all.

It is easy to control the thickness, according to your mood/preference. If you want greater intensity, just layer on.

I usually like to line my eyes rather thickly. This time, I draw thinly to show how precise this liquid eyeliner can be.

I even draw bottom lashes... very impressed with how "natural" they look! I've tried that with black liquid eyeliner, but the result was too harsh for my liking. Trust me, dark brown is a better choice.

The LOTD photos were taken after a day out. The liquid eyeliner is said to be super waterproof and smudge-free. True enough, it does not fade, flake, smudge or budge the whole day. It is removed easily using eye makeup remover.

For your reference, these are the products I used.

  • Skinfood Good Afternoon Rose Lemon Tea BB Cream
  • Lunasol Aurorized Eyes EX01 Sheer Gold Beige Brown
  • The Body Shop All-In-One Cheek Color 01 Macaroon
  • Paul & Joe Pressed Powder N 03
  • Chanel Illusion d’Ombre Long-Wear Luminous Eyeshadow 83 Illusoire\
  • MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipglass
  • Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus BR666

  • The Rose of Versailles - Princess Antoinette Liquid Eyeliner (Dark Brown)
  • Kose Esprique Precious Dual Lip Pencil

*Note: Products highlighted are provided by beauty companies.

From far, the drawn bottom lashes can almost be mistaken for real.

That's all for now. Thank you for reading!

The Rose of Versailles - Oscar & Rosalie Face Mask (Peach)

[Haraju-Cute Box - Japan Cosme #1]

To be ranked "No.1 Sheet Mask" on @Cosme (2011), is no easy feat. There are sooo many sheet masks out there!

The Rose of Versailles - Oscar & Rosalie Face Mask (Peach)

Both the male and female characters look equally beautiful...

Did I just read "GOLD" as one of the ingredients?!?! O_O

Besides gold, The Rose of Versailles - Oscar & Rosalie Face Mask (Peach) also contains pomegranate flower extract, camellia flower extract and several other plant extracts for silky and radiant skin. Moisturizing agents like lipidure and dipotassium glycyrrhizate are added to provide moisture and protect your skin.

It is gentle on the skin as it does not contain alcohol or mineral oil.

The mask contains 27ml of beauty serum. There is a lot of excess, which can be applied all over the body. No wastage :D

Despite having a slightly thick consistency, it absorbs into the skin pretty fast. No sticky feeling. I can still smell the honey peachy scent thereafter. Those who are used to non-scented masks, might find it a lil' overwhelming initially.

The mask does adhere to the skin snugly, without falling out of place during mask-ing. It comes with eye flaps, to mask your eye area.

The sheet mask feels like cotton cloth, soft but not easily torn.

It is immensely soaked with beauty serum, which is dripping wet when removed from the sachet. There is a slight stinging sensation, which last for just a few seconds. That being said, the mask feels comfortably cooling and soothing on the skin throughout the skin pampering session. I notice a nice glow on my skin upon removing the mask (after 10mins). The redness on my skin (from light extraction) has greatly subsided. It hydrates the skin very well, leaving it feel soft, smooth and supple. My skin feels ultra moisturized after mask-ing.

Having tried so many sheet masks, I now understand why it is ranked No.1. An excellent sheet mask indeed. A MUST TRY!

The Rose of Versailles - Oscar & Rosalie Face Mask (Peach) is exclusively available at Haraju-Cute counters at selected Guardian stores. It is sold individually at $8.90.
