A Neutral LOTD [feat. Integrate Rainbow Grade Eyes BR701]

The 1st quarter of 2012 is ending in a week's time... Woah~ Time really flies!

So far, I've been good, trying to haul necessarily instead of excessively. I recently did some packing and found myself with "new" makeup and skincare to play with use. Needless to say, there is also a considerable amount of old ones that need to be discarded.

One of the "new" makeup I managed to find in my abandoned stash is Integrate Rainbow Grade Eyes BR701. It consists of a glitter shade (the slanted striped one), 3 powder shades in the shape of a heart (2/3 to be precise. heh.) and a cream-colored base.

[pictured left to right]:

white rainbow glitter powder, cream-colored base, shimmery champagne nude, shimmery dark taupe, shimmery brownish black.

All the shades are very pretty. I would say they're decently pigmented, considering typical Japanese brand eyeshadows are quite sheer. I love the cream-colored base, as it imparts a pretty glowy sheen sans shimmers.

The powder eyeshadows feel silky smooth, not cheap powdery kind. The shimmers they contain are very finely milled. They're really easy to work with and blend really beautifully.

As for the sparkly rainbow glitter shade, it feels smooth but not densely packed though. A good eye primer like Urban Decay or TFSI will help prevent fall-outs.

I like the color combination though it's clearly not that unique. I'm glad that they hold up well without the use of an eye primer -- no creasing or fading at the end of day.

For this look, I applied the base color then the powder eyeshadows using the easy "gradient" effect. To keep the look simple, I didn't use the rainbow glitter powder.

Too Faced Naked Eye Palette: The Fashion Look

Here I am, with the next instalment of Too Faced Naked Eye (Soft & Sexy Eye Shadow Collection) LOTD series - The Fashion Look. Hmm... I should really do a colorful look next...

To rock The Fashion Look, one must have Pink Cheeks and do a Lap Dance wearing Stiletto.

"Jokes" aside, I followed the step-by-step instruction card accordingly (as usual).

  • Sweep Pink Cheeks from crease to brow.
  • Blend Lap Dance into crease and onto lid.
  • Apply Stiletto to upper lash line and extend outward, then blend into lower lashline.

I really like all the colors used for this look, especially Lap Dance (a pretty shimmery taupe with a hint of purple). To line and define the eyes, I apply Stiletto (a soft matte black) using a pencil brush. Shu Uemura Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil Hard 9 Brown 03 as usual, for soft-looking brows. Sana Gafixx Matsuge Gatch-ly Mascara to amp up my lashes.

MAC Viva Glam Cyndi Lipstick is a soft rosy red on me, which I absolutely adore. I like the lustre finish, which the color intensity can be build up according to one's preference. Love how it brightens up the whole look effortlessly.

As for my face, I use Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation 51 Light Vanilla & set with L'egere Mineral Makeup Finishing Powder. I kinda like the combi result, a nice dewy finish. I barely notice any flaws on me... all covered up! On my cheeks, is a light swirl of Jill Stuart Mix Blush Compact 10 Sweet Biscuit.

Okay, that's all. Thanks for looking! (:

Review/LOTD feat. DOT DOT Smoky Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette + 100% Handmade Lashes (WC16)

In this post, I'll be sharing my thoughts on DOT DOT Smoky Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette from Beauty Bistro, and 100% Handmade Lashes (WC16) from Fleur Blossom.

DOT DOT Smoky Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette SGD$29.90

A mirrored compact kit with 6 ultra fine, reflective powder eyeshadow colours and 1 cream shade. This palette can easily take you from day-to-night with its wearable colors.

dark blue shimmersilver grey shimmermetallic light copper shimmer

(Note: The fallouts are due to my clumsy fingers.. =.=")

Comes with an eyeshadow brush and a sponge wand, which are pretty useful. The brush bristles are soft and non-scratchy. Doesn't shed easily.

pearl white shimmerpeppermint green shimmergold shimmerdeep chocolate brown (cream)

Swatch-Fest

The reddish deep chocolate brown cream base (with bronze & gold micro-shimmers) can be layered on to get the desired intensity. The swatch shown in the image above is 3 layers. I will suggest using a powder eyeshadow over this cream base, to prevent smudges and creases.

The pearl white shimmer looks more like a cream color in the pan. When swatched, it is a true pearlescent white (perfect for highlighting).

This peppermint green shimmer is packed with peppermint green & grey micro-shimmers, silver & gold micro-glitter bits.

The gold shimmer feels more gritty; more prone to fall-outs. It has pink micro-shimmers, silver & gold micro-glitter bits.

The dark blue shimmer is the most pigmented of the lot, packed with blue & purple micro-shimmers, silver micro-glitter bits. My favorite

The silver grey shimmer has purple & peppermint green micro-shimmers, silver micro-glitter bits.

The metallic light copper shimmer has pink micro-shimmers, silver & gold micro-glitter bits.

My face with Laneige Snow Crystal Dual Foundation SPF22PA+ in Deep Beige 33.

Lioele Real Crystal Twin Cake No.2 is used lightly to set the foundation.

  • Fill brows with Bébé Poshé Sexy Brow Shaper.
  • Apply Too-Faced Shadow Insurance prior eyeshadow application.
  • Apply pearl white shimmer onto 1/2 of the inner upper eyelid area, then layer metallic light copper shimmer all over the eyelid area.
  • Dust some gold shimmer onto the middle part of upper eyelid area for more dimension.
  • Use pearl white shimmer to highlight brow bone, inner corner of eye & dust some onto 1/3 of the inner lower lashline.
  • Apply peppermint green shimmer onto 2/3 of the outer lower lashline.
  • Line the upper lashline thickly with a droopy winged look, using K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyeliner (Black).
  • Using the same eyeliner, draw "lashes" on the lower lashline.
  • Layer dark blue shimmer over peppermint green shimmer shade.

100% Handmade Lashes (WC16) SGD$13.90

A box contains 10 pairs of lashes. Length: 10mm

  • Clear lash bone
  • Excellent Quality
  • Light & Comfortable

  • Apply a thin layer of lash glue (I'm using Marie Beauty Clear Eye Cream) onto the lash bone.
  • Wait for about 30s for it to become tacky, for the lashes before positioning.
  • Place the lashes as close to the lashline as possible.

CLICK HERE to Like Fleur Blossom FB Pageget $2 off per box on your 1st purchase. That's $11.90 for the one I'm using! $1.19 per pair. Awesome deal!

All prices inclusive of normal shipping charges. For more info, visit Fleur Blossom website HERE.

To warm up my complexion, I brush on only the orange & brown shades from Jill Stuart Mix Blush Compact 10 Sweet Biscuit.

On my lips - Bihada Ichizoku Gorgeous Lip Gloss (Pearl Beige).

The eyeshadows are well-pigmented, and the color stays true and intense all day long. Personally, I like that they aren't crazily shimmery or glittery; very wearable even in the day. I might do a smoky LOTD using this palette. Shall see how it goes (:

The lash bone is clear and thin. It doesn't lose its shape after removing it (gently) from the tray packaging. Some might find the length to be kinda long (10mm). Personally, I think the length is okay for me.

Really easy to apply, especially for someone like me who apply fake lashes once in a blue moon AND simply take forever to get the positioning right.

The lashes feel incredibly soft & comfy. I love how the lashes look on me - SUPER DOLLY!

(PS: I highly recommend y'all to get the Marie Beauty Clear Eye Cream (lash glue) as well. Pretty good in my opinion.)

LOTD/Tutorial: Smoky Emerald (feat. L'oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in 022 Emerald Lame)

As requested by my reader, I'll be doing a tutorial on a smoky look featuring L'oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in 022 Emerald Lame.

Other products used for this LOTD:

  • Majolica Majorca Jeweling Eyes PK785
  • Make Up For Ever HD Blush #8 PDA
  • Ettusais Eye Zone Control in Yellow/Beige
  • Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl Waterproof Eyeliner 01 Raisin Noir
  • Lavshuca Star Decoration Eyes BR-2
  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance
  • Laneige Natural Pure Foundation No.23 Sand Beige (not in picture)
  • Jill Stuart Mix Blush Compact 10 Sweet Biscuit (not in picture)
  • Dramatic Veil (Bright Up) Face Powder (not in picture)
  • Lancôme Le Crayon Sourcils Eyebrow Pencil in Brun (not in picture)
  • Chanel Aqualumière Gloss 66 Freeze (not in picture)
  • Cyber Colors Ex Volume Waterproof Mascara in Black (not in picture)

*Note: Product highlighted is provided by beauty company for review purpose.

On my face, I'd already applied Laneige Natural Pure Foundation No.23 Sand Beige. The foundation has a fairly good coverage, which concealed most of my minor flaws like blemishes and scars. To conceal my dark circles, I used Ettusais Eye Zone Control in Yellow/Beige. A little goes a long way. Too much will accentuate fine lines.

I filled my brow gaps using Lancôme Le Crayon Sourcils Eyebrow Pencil in BrunMake Up For Ever HD Blush #8 PDA, blended on my cheeks.

  • Apply Too Faced Shadow Insurance prior eyeshadow application. Using an eye primer will prevent the eyeshadow from fading and creasing.
  • Then, I applied L'oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in 022 Emerald Lame all over the lid area using my (middle) finger. Alternatively, you can use a brush.
  • To define my eyes, I tightlined my upper lashline using Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl Waterproof Eyeliner 01 Raisin Noir. I do the same for 1/3 of my lower lashline (from the outer edge inwards).

  • I smudged the eyeliner lightly using 7bella 5E 05 Pencil Brush, then use the same brush to apply my favorite taupe brown shade from Majolica Majorca Jeweling Eyes PK785 on top of the smudged eyeliner. For a more intense look, you can use a darker eyeshadow.
  • I define the outer-V using the same taupe brown shade.
  • Using 7bella 7S01 Small Highlight Brush, I lightly dusted a mix of the pale gold & light pink shades from Majolica Majorca Jeweling Eyes PK785 on my brow bone, and blend out the emerald green + taupe brown shades.

  • I dusted the glittery light pink shade from Lavshuca Star Decoration Eyes BR-2 to highlight the area where my epicanthal fold (with 7bella 3E 01 Eyeliner Brush). I also dusted some above the eye contour.
  • Finally, I curled my lashes with Koji eyelash curler no.73 and applied Cyber Colors Ex Volume Waterproof Mascara in Black (a separate review on this). Alternatively, you can use fake lashes.

The finished smoky eye look, with mascara-ed lashes.

Dramatic Veil (Bright Up) Face Powder, to set the foundation. Jill Stuart Mix Blush Compact 10 Sweet Biscuit, layered above the MUFE HD Blush #8 PDAChanel Aqualumière Gloss 66 Freeze - for glossy nude lips.

The primary focus will be on the eyes (:

Hmm.. The look is much more intense in real life, than the pictures shown. Hope you enjoyed the post (:

That's all for now. Thanks for reading/looking!
