Haraju-Cute Box - Brigitte

[Haraju-Cute Box - Brigitte]

This is definitely one of my highly anticipated Haraju-Cute Box, with the brand focus being Brigitte. Fyi, Brigitte is a girly romantic beauty brand, fronted by Rola (Japanese fashion model, TV personality and singer).

These are the products I receive, namely Brigitte Romantic Blush OR-1 Orange ($24.90) and Brigitte Romantic Eyes GD-1 Gold Brown ($26.90)

Brigitte Romantic Blush is a duo cheek color, for highlight and contour of cheekbones.

I'm so in love with the sweet elegant packaging! It literally makes my heart flutters

OR-1 Orange is perfect for naturally glowing cheeks. By the way, the rose motif "disappears" upon swiping.

The light peach shade is for highlight while the orange-peach shade is the main cheek color. Both are very soft colors that are easy to work with. You can't go wrong with them.

I like the silky smooth texture, which is gentle on the skin. The cheek color & highlighter combine to create a lasting beautiful glow on the cheeks.

Brigitte Romantic Eyes is an eyeshadow palette, which comprises of 4 delicate graduated shades of brown.

It has the same beautiful packaging as the blush. Love it!

I opt for GD-1 Gold Brown, which is perfect for a glam eye makeup look.

The light pale gold shade is the highlight color. The golden brown shade (with rose motif) is the main lid color. The beige-brown shade is for contouring the eyes, to be applied on the outer-V of the upper eyelids. The dark brown replaces the function of an eyeliner, to add a soft definition to the eyes.

All 4 shades contain very fine micro-shimmers. As you can see, they are decently pigmented. The colors show up well, even without the use of an eye primer/base beneath. Like the blush, the eyeshadows feel silky smooth.

No doubt, Brigitte products are of excellent quality! I've created a look, using these 2 products. I'll be featuring the LOTD in a separate post. Stay tuned!

LOTD feat. Hello Kitty Makeup

A more complete range of Hello Kitty Makeup is now available in Watsons. The range is pretty comprehensive, which consists of compact powder, eyeshadow, blusher, lipstick, lipgloss, nail polish, mascara, eyeliner, brushes, etc.

Products I received:-

  • Kawaii Black Hello Kitty cosmetic pouch set [limited edition] >> Kawaii Duo Eyeshadow HK00-13 OR & TERREMagnetic Gloss HK18-03 Baby Lip
  • Hello Kitty Pretty Mascara HK03-04 INTENS' BROWN
  • Hello Kitty Blush HK10-04 LA HAVANE

Swatches: blush, mascara, lip gloss, duo eyeshadow [3rd shade at the right is mixed]

Hello Kitty Kawaii Duo Eyeshadow - $14.90

There are a total of 9 duos in matching or complementary shades to brighten the eyes with a single brush stroke. The shade I receive, is a pigmented duo of dark brown and antique gold. When mixed, it becomes a lovely shade of golden brown. The duo eyeshadow is not overly shimmery, and has a beautiful satin finish. It can used dry or wet.

The quality is pretty impressive, much better than expected. To be honest, I was expecting it to be either slightly chalky or gritty, with average color payoff. It was definitely a pleasant surprise when I first swatched the eyeshadow. The colors translated well on my lids. Even without using an eye primer/base, the eye color last the whole day without fading, flaking or creasing.

Hello Kitty Pretty Mascara - $18.90

It comes with a high tech double fiber brush, which claims to give double action length and extreme volume, for longer and thicker lashes.

It does thicken my lashes, giving slight lengthening effect. It coats and separates the lashes well too. No clumps at all. Since it's not waterproof, it doesn't hold the curls well. There's no flaking or smudging at the end of day though.

Available in 4 shades >> green, black, blue, brown.

Hello Kitty Blush - $17.90

It is a compact blush to brighten the complexion and sculpt facial features. The texture is ultra sheer, with a mineral pigment base.

Available in 5 shades. Mine is a warm rose brown shade. It has shimmers, but not obvious to the naked eye. Like the duo eyeshadow, it has a lovely satin finish.

Hello Kitty Magnetic Gloss - $18.90

The shade I receive, is a very shimmery baby pink. The color is very subtle. I like that the texture is non-sticky but dislike the sweet fruity scent/flavor.

Available in 6 shades, either lacquered or iridescent. Mine is the latter.

Here's a really simple look I've created, using the above mentioned products.

Looks feat. Pupa Luminys Silk Eyeshadow 300

In this post, I'll be showcasing 2 looks featuring Pupa Luminys Silk Eyeshadow 300. For swatches of the other colors in this collection, pls refer to this post HERE.

Luminys Silk Eyeshadow has a lovely satin finish. I love the texture, which feels really silky and soft. It can be applied dry, for a simple yet elegant look. It can also be applied wet for an intense, sophisticated look.

- ingredient list -

It comes with a soft sponge applicator. You can always use your favorite eye brush or your fingers to apply.

Pupa Luminys Silk Eyeshadow 300 is a medium dark burgundy brown color. Beautiful color, isn't it? The image above clearly shows how pigmented the eyeshadow is. I like it wet... love how intense it looks!

This is a very-very light makeup look. Everything is kept relatively simple. I apply a light gold shade (Lunasol Aurorized Eyes EX01 Sheer Gold Beige Brown) as an overall base color and the Pupa eyeshadow (dry) over the lids. To subtly define the eyes, I apply a dark brown eyeliner (Stage Eye Liner 02 Broadway Brown), close to the upper lashline, slightly thickening it at the end. I also softly line the outer 1/3 of my lower lashline. To finish off the eye look, I apply a thin layer of mascara (Maybelline Lashionista). For eyebrows, I use all-time-favorite Shu Uemura Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil.

For my face, I use The Body Shop All-In-One Color-adapting BB Cream 01 to even out my skin tone. The coverage is pretty light, hence I use Pupa Luminys Touch (shade no.2) to reduce the look of my dark circles. I also apply onto the nose bridge for a subtle highlight.

To set the foundation, I apply a thin layer of The Body Shop All-In-One Face Base 03. As for the cheeks, it is a beautiful coral glow, using The Body Shop-In-One Cheek Color 01 Macaroon.

This makeup look is more intense, as I apply the Pupa eyeshadow (wet) over the lids. I blend the gold color (Brigitte Romantic Eyes GD-1 Gold Brown) over the crease. Instead of the usual eyeliner, I use the dark brown eyeshadow from the same palette to line my eyes. I do it the usual way, close to the upper lashline and the outer 1/3 of my lower lashline.

The eyebrows are defined using Shu Uemura Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil (as usual). Then, I lightly brush over the brow bone, using the highlight side (KATE Slim Create Powder). My brows look better defined this way, in my opinion. For dolly-looking lashes, I use ZA Volume Mascara, an amazing mascara I highly recommend!

I can't stop singing praises of my new found fave - KATE Powderless Liquid Foundation. This is a must-have! Though the coverage is only fair-medium, it evens out my skintone so perfectly. I don't like full coverage foundies, so this one is just right for my liking. No powder is used to set the foundation. On my cheeks, I use Brigitte Romantic Blush OR-1 Orange. Pretty orange blush, I say!

That's all for now. Have a great week ahead!

Introducing KATE Cosmetics - Autumn Winter 2012 Makeup Collection

I was all excited about this newly launched Autumn Winter 2012 Makeup Collection by KATE Cosmetics, especially the star product - Powderless Liquid Foundation. Sounds awesomely exciting much!

The above featured products are part of this new collection, namely:-

  • Powderless Liquid Foundation
  • Slim Create Powder
  • Deep Shiny Eyes PK-1
  • Limited Colour Super Sharp Liner RD-1

KATE Powderless Liquid Foundation SPF20 PA++

KATE Powderless Liquid Foundation turns into powder within 15s of application. Formulated with Thin Film Fit Powder, this innovative foundation contains coated pigments that help to correct visible skin problems and provide excellent coverage. In addition, it also includes a volatile oil ingredient that vaporises instantly upon application, allowing the foundation to adhere perfectly onto the skin without leaving it look/feel oily or sticky. There is no need to apply powder to set the foundation, for a matte finish.

Available in 6 varying skin tones.

Retail price: $34.00 / 30ml

Here's the swatch of OC-B shade, which fits my skin tone perfectly.

I mean it, when I say PERFECT. It covers my imperfections pretty well, say 85%. The best part is that I need not use any powder to set the foundation. It really lives up to its claim of turning into powder within 15s of application. I kid you not. Anyway, the finish is not matte-matte, more of a nice satin IMO.

After using it, I now fully understand why it is labelled as the star product. This is one foundation I will want to repurchase again AND again. Seriously holy grail!

KATE Slim Create Powder

KATE Slim Create Powder is specially developed to help create the highly coveted slim and contoured face. This ultra convenient 2-in-1 product, comprises of a shading and highlight powder.

The shading powder creates shades along the face line, while the highlighter attracts light to the centre of the face, giving the illusion of a slimmer and contoured face. Formulated with sweatproof + fade-resistant fitting and coating powder, this is the must-have product for that perfect face-line.

Retail price: $27.00 / 3.8g

Flashlight VS Natural Sunlight

The micro-shimmery bits of the highlight powder are ultra fine, which imparts a glow on the skin. I like that the shading powder is not too dark, which doesn't appear too stark on me. I like the subtle contouring effect it gives. My features definitely look less flat after highlighting and contouring.

Hmm... I don't normally care much about the brushes that come along with (powder) makeup, as they are usually of poor quality - the brush bristles feel rough and scratchy. However, this flat natural horse hair brush feels so soft against the skin. It doesn't feel scratchy at all. Most importantly, it picks up the right amount of powder, which applies nicely and evenly.

KATE Deep Shiny Eyes

KATE Deep Shiny Eyes is a jewel-inspired trio eye shadow palette. The middle features a glittery shade formulated with ‘Gloss Jewelry Pearl’ that produces a highly lustrous and transparent shine, while the other 2 shades are Deep Night-themed shades formulated with a special ‘Black Star Pearl’ that helps to coat deep colour pigments with shine.

Its jewel-like lustrous radiance, together with deep colours, creates a beautiful harmony, giving eyes a deeply mysterious and shimmery finish.

Available in pink, orange-brown, brown, gold, blue and golden yellow.

Retail price: $23.50 / 3.2g

I'm a big fan of KATE eyeshadow palettes! I love how they give dimension to my typical Asian eyes... and they are so easy to apply!

PK-1 is a lovely trio of pink-taupe + oyster pink + dark pink-brown. This is the exact eyeshadow palette I want from this collection. Thanks Shumin for reading my mind :P

You probably can tell from the swatches that they are pretty well-pigmented, with a resplendent and transparent shine. I love how they dress up my peepers with this enchanting jewel-like glow.... super gorgeous! The texture is incredibly silky smooth, doesn't feel chalky or gritty at all.

KATE Limited Colour Super Sharp Liner

KATE Limited Colour Super Sharp Liner comes with an ultra thin brush that allows you to draw lines of your desired thickness effortlessly and smoothly. At an amazing 0.03mm width, this eyeliner is currently the thinnest finds in Japan’s market. It is also designed to be long-lasting and smudge-proof, with its ability to repel water and perspiration.

Launched in commemoration of its 10 millionth unit sales, this product is available in 2 special limited edition colours [night red & night blue], on top of its regular high black colour offering.

Retail price: $17.00 / 0.6ml

On a random note, the glossy red cobweb design does remind me of Spiderman.

Anyway, the color night red is also what I wanted... night blue looks kinda "boring" in comparison :X

This liquid eyeliner is the least impressive of the lot. It smears on me when I perspire... definitely not a pretty sight. I like the dark red color, something different from the usual blacks and browns. From a distance, it looks like dark brown.

Will be posting my LOTD, with these featured products on a separate post. Stay tuned

A Neutral LOTD [feat. Integrate Rainbow Grade Eyes BR701]

The 1st quarter of 2012 is ending in a week's time... Woah~ Time really flies!

So far, I've been good, trying to haul necessarily instead of excessively. I recently did some packing and found myself with "new" makeup and skincare to play with use. Needless to say, there is also a considerable amount of old ones that need to be discarded.

One of the "new" makeup I managed to find in my abandoned stash is Integrate Rainbow Grade Eyes BR701. It consists of a glitter shade (the slanted striped one), 3 powder shades in the shape of a heart (2/3 to be precise. heh.) and a cream-colored base.

[pictured left to right]:

white rainbow glitter powder, cream-colored base, shimmery champagne nude, shimmery dark taupe, shimmery brownish black.

All the shades are very pretty. I would say they're decently pigmented, considering typical Japanese brand eyeshadows are quite sheer. I love the cream-colored base, as it imparts a pretty glowy sheen sans shimmers.

The powder eyeshadows feel silky smooth, not cheap powdery kind. The shimmers they contain are very finely milled. They're really easy to work with and blend really beautifully.

As for the sparkly rainbow glitter shade, it feels smooth but not densely packed though. A good eye primer like Urban Decay or TFSI will help prevent fall-outs.

I like the color combination though it's clearly not that unique. I'm glad that they hold up well without the use of an eye primer -- no creasing or fading at the end of day.

For this look, I applied the base color then the powder eyeshadows using the easy "gradient" effect. To keep the look simple, I didn't use the rainbow glitter powder.
