Snippets of My Life -- No.1

Apparently, I've run out of ideas on how to name the random entries... hence this will be the debut episode of "Snippets of My Life"... I was planning to name it "The Random Post" initially... that just sounds plain boring, yes? Hmm... ok nvm... I'm so random... hahaha!

I shall start with BellaSugar... Recently, I noticed a slight surge on my blog stats... I clicked on the referral link and was pleasantly surprised to see my LOTD entry being featured as one of the Beauty Must Reads...

Another featured entry is my review on Murad Hydro-Dynamic™ Ultimate Moisture. Thanks BellaSugar!

Simple things like this, makes me happy (:

I won a pair of "The Devil Inside" preview tickets via 8 Days Magazine giveaway (thanks!). I wouldn't say it's a must-watch movie. Not that horrifying after all. Anyway, it ended rather abruptly yet silently. Everyone literally went "huh???"...

Had supper at Xin Wang HK Cafe (Orchard Cineleisure). A very bad choice indeed. The food standard dropped tremendously. The pork chop's texture was soft (not in a good way) -- tasted like fish. My chicken chop tasted weird too. The nice and edible ones were the fries, egg & tomato. Oh well, the yuan yang was good though. *SIGH* Never will I go there eat again... prolly only for drinks? :/

Simple dessert like iced cold cheng tng on an exceptionally hot day, makes my day! My favorite curry chicken noodles at Bedok Central Market...

Salmon sashimi don... And, the yummilicious fried matcha ice-cream! From Megumi...

I mentioned K-Palette's launch of new products earlier on HERE. The day after, I received this pretty box of goodies (thanks to Ariel!). I'll be reviewing these goodies soon! I'm lovin' them so far

Ahh... the long awaited Mavala media kit all the way from Switzerland! It's the latest "Show Time" collection -- think holographic blings... Blogging about it soon - stay tuned!

Finally got my Shu Uemura Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil Hard sharpened at the ION Orchard outlet. The pretty BA even attached my name sticker on the pencil cap. Thanks ya :D

Alice - recklessxiam [Beautiful right? My favoritest visual work ]

My gf bought me this pair of pretty nude wedges, exactly what I wanted! I passed her $1 :D

Me and Valerie at the Maybelline event -- photo credits to her (:

Kim Hyun Joong!!!!!!

Jones posted this on FB (I think)... Dunno who this guy is... but he's like so pretty! Prettier than the girl :x

Most of the time, I'm like this sleepy cat... refusing to open my eyes... laze and sleep all the way :D

Till then. Bye!

Too Faced Naked Eye Palette: The Fashion Look

Here I am, with the next instalment of Too Faced Naked Eye (Soft & Sexy Eye Shadow Collection) LOTD series - The Fashion Look. Hmm... I should really do a colorful look next...

To rock The Fashion Look, one must have Pink Cheeks and do a Lap Dance wearing Stiletto.

"Jokes" aside, I followed the step-by-step instruction card accordingly (as usual).

  • Sweep Pink Cheeks from crease to brow.
  • Blend Lap Dance into crease and onto lid.
  • Apply Stiletto to upper lash line and extend outward, then blend into lower lashline.

I really like all the colors used for this look, especially Lap Dance (a pretty shimmery taupe with a hint of purple). To line and define the eyes, I apply Stiletto (a soft matte black) using a pencil brush. Shu Uemura Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil Hard 9 Brown 03 as usual, for soft-looking brows. Sana Gafixx Matsuge Gatch-ly Mascara to amp up my lashes.

MAC Viva Glam Cyndi Lipstick is a soft rosy red on me, which I absolutely adore. I like the lustre finish, which the color intensity can be build up according to one's preference. Love how it brightens up the whole look effortlessly.

As for my face, I use Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation 51 Light Vanilla & set with L'egere Mineral Makeup Finishing Powder. I kinda like the combi result, a nice dewy finish. I barely notice any flaws on me... all covered up! On my cheeks, is a light swirl of Jill Stuart Mix Blush Compact 10 Sweet Biscuit.

Okay, that's all. Thanks for looking! (:

Too Faced Naked Eye Palette: The Day Look

In this post, I'll be featuring my LOTD (The Day Look) using Too Faced Naked Eye (Soft & Sexy Eye Shadow Collection).

I followed the step-by-step instruction card provided.

  • Sweep In The Buff from lashes to brow.
  • Press Pillow Talk onto the eyelid.
  • Blend Like A Virgin into the crease and outer lashline.

On my face, I applied my favorite-of-the-moment Skin79 Vital Orange BB Cream (a review coming real soon!). It pretty much covers up my flaws. There isn't any need for a separate concealer unless I want a really full coverage. This coverage is more than enough for me (:

For soft-looking brows, I used Shu Uemura Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil Hard 9 Brown 03. For natural-looking lashes, I first applied Etude House Oh~ m'Eye Lash Mascara Base (Petticoat) then 1 coat of Covergirl Professional Remarkable Washable Waterproof Mascara (Very Black).

I used K-Palette Real Lasting 24h Eyeliner in Deep Brown ( this color!) to line my upper lashline, extending the line slightly at the end. For my lower lashline, I used Essence Longlasting Eye Pencil 01 BLACK FEVER.

I lightly dust my HG Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Sand Medium 0-1 only on the T-zone area. For some color on my cheeks, I used my favorite Lavshuca Blush PK-1.

The finished look is very neutral, I like :D No regrets on getting the Too Faced Naked Eye Palette!

That will be all. Thanks for looking!

My CNY LOTD

My CNY look was rather similar to the earlier LOTD I posted. A cooler version. I won't label it as "sweet" though. Most importantly, I only spent ~20mins on this look!

I didn't like Skin79 Vital Orange BB Cream + YSL Matt Pressed Powder No.1, which makes my complexion look kinda cakey. I much prefer Skin79 with Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Sand Medium 0-1. Apart from that, I love the rest of the products I used for this look! Will be reviewing some of 'em real soon. Stay tuned (:

The 15-mins Look

How long do you take to do your makeup? If I've got the time to spare, I'll usually take my own sweet time... say an hour or so? And for simple makeup, I'll need at least 15 mins.

This is my kind of simple LOTD (look of the day) for last thursday, when I attended Lancôme media event (that will be covered at a later date). Presentable enough. Nothing elaborate. I was test driving Skin79 Vital Orange BB Cream for the day. And yes, I'm lovin' it! (;

This was how I look after 7 hours (blot once in the late noon).

The close-up.

A wash of matte brown over the lids, using Make Up Store Microshadow [Chocolate]. Dejavu Lash Knockout Mascara, for my lashes. Doesn't help much with maintaining the curls. Commendable volumizing effect though.

I like the liner part. Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in Mat Black 0L, then a thinly applied Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner over it (as close to the lashline as possible). Extend beyond the lashline.

As for the (smudged out) lower lashline - outer part using MAC Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner [Designer Purple], inner corners using Essence Longlasting Eye Pencil 11 GO WILD.

    FACE

    • Skin79 Vital Orange BB Cream
    • Barry M Blusher 2 [Rose]
    • Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Sand Medium 0-1 << HIT PAN ALERT! LOVE THIS MAX
    • Neogence Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Make Up Serum

With strong flashlight, my skin looks almost flawless. Heh.

    That's all. Thanks for looking!

1st LOTD of 2012; My Favorite Look

My 1st LOTD of 2012 - Smoky Eyes. My favorite kind of look; "VERY ME"!

    The makeup tools:

    • Barry M Intense Black Eyeliner Pen
    • Majolica Majorca Customize Sword Cut BR771
    • KATE Deep Eyes GY-1
    • Shu Uemura Make Up Color Palette The Basic
    • Sana Gafixx Matsuge Gatch-ly Mascara
    • Duwop Venom Gloss in Coral Tree

Had a light makeover after Clarins Skin Time... A mix of Instant Light Complexion Perfector 00 Rose Shimmer & liquid foundation (not sure which range though =.=)... To set the makeup, the BA brushed on Loose Powder 01 Translucent. I touched up a lil', using Lioele Real Crystal Twin Cake 02.

Using Barry M Intense Black Eyeliner Pen, I tightlined the upper lashline and extend beyond the lashline. The liner is slightly thicker for my right eye, to balance my uneven eyes. For the lower lashline, I only lined 1/3 of the outer corner and extend beyond the lashline. Make sure that the extended lines meet at the ends.

I applied the darker taupe shade (KATE Deep Eyes GY-1) on the outer-V, then the light pale peach shade on the inner corners (upper and lower lashlines) and the lighter taupe shade at the middle area. Next, I applied the black shade over the lined area (upper and lower lashlines), more on the outer-V.

To highlight the brow bone, I applied P Pink 103 (Shu Uemura Make Up Color Palette The Basic) using a fluffy brush. Use the same brush to blend out harsh lines. For the cheeks, I brushed on P Amber 87 from the same palette.

This is one of my absolute favorites, KATE Deep Eyes GY-1.

I'm not sure if you can still find this in stores, as it is not a new collection.

    The beautiful swatches...

I use all the shades except gunmetal gray, for this look.

Another new favorite black eyeliner - Barry M Intense Black Eyeliner Pen.

I got it from ASOS.com, and it's cheap (I got it in a set).

On its own, it retails for £4.00.

The black is pretty intense, and can be used on the waterline (with minimal fading after 3-4 hours).

As the focus of this LOTD is the eyes, I used a light color (Duwop Venom Gloss in Coral Tree) for the lips.

    What's your Favorite Look?

    SWATCH-FEST/LOTD: Sleek Makeup Mediterranean Collection

This is my humble Sleek Makeup collection so far. Just 8 9 eyeshadow palettes and 5 blushers. I have yet to collect my PPQ e/s palette.. =.=zzz

Shall be talking about the Mediterranean Collection. Didn't get the Pout Polish (as usual). And so, here we've are the Monaco e/s palette and Santorini Blush.

Santorini is a beautiful deep hot pink (matte) blush.

Uber pigmented, which is easily sheered out for a pretty flush of pink on the cheeks.

The actual color looks darker than the image above. Hmm.. It may look kinda intimidating. Trust me, the color is stunning! Remember to be as light-handed as possible to avoid looking like a clown :x

I'm super light-handed with my swatch yea :D~

Monaco e/s palette has a colorful mix of metallic, matte, shimmery shades.

Most are well-pigmented especially the metallic shades which are so smooth and buttery. Some of the matte shades do feel a lil' chalky. Overall, the quality is really good (as expected).

Bamboo makes a good e/s base color. Surprisingly, Sunset and Sandwalker appeals to me much. The metallic shades are pretty too - Kiwi Zest, Lotus Flower, Humming Bird.

FYI, these are not swatched over e/s primer.

Here's my "Mediterranean" LOTD, using the Monaco e/s palette and Santorini Blush.

For UV protection, I use C.A.D UV White Sun Base Cream SPF40/PA++. To even out my skin tone, I use Skin79 Lovely Girl BB Cream, then Chacott Finishing Powder 753. To fill my brows, I use Shu Uemura Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil (Hard 9 Brown 03).

*Note: Product(s) highlighted are provided by beauty companies.

I use Clé de Peau Beauté Touche de Rouge Extra Silky Lipstick 108, then dap a teeny weeny bit of BB Cream for a nude lip look.

The colors I use from the Monaco e/s palette are:- Bamboo, Midnight Garden, Summer Breeze and Lotus Flower. The mascara I use - Fairy Drops Volume Burst Mascara (Waterproof). My ultimate favorite mascara for now. Review soon! :D~

FYI, I use Urban Decay Primer Potion prior e/s application.

Now, you should know why I'm loving the Santorini Blush sooo much! ^.~v

    Thanks for looking! xoxo
