LoveMore South Pacific Gold Pearl Amazing White Mask

I have no idea why the names for mask are getting longer and longer... what a mouthful! Anyway, let's cut to the chase...

I'd gotten this highly raved LoveMore South Pacific Gold Pearl Amazing White Mask via an event, along with other variants. Its main ingredients include Gold Pearl Extract, Bitter Orange Flower ExtractSYN®-HYCAN.

If you don't already know, the newly formulated and upgraded LoveMore mask sheets are super thin (and soft), at only 0.02mm. They are so thin that the flaws on my skin are peeking through. You can probably tell from the pic that the mask is well soaked with essence. There is even leftover (in the sachet) that you can apply to your hands and legs.

As usual, the mask fits and adheres well. Unlike most LoveMore masks I'd tried, the scent of this variant is pretty strong. And, it takes a while for the scent to go away.

I notice a slight brightening effect on my face after leaving on the mask for 15mins. That is, however, temporary. I think regular masking (once a week using this variant), will help in a much permanent result. Think radiant and even skin!

Do note that the essence does leave an initial sticky feel that dissipates after patting and massaging. It will take a while though.

You can purchase a box of 5pcs - $8.90 HERE.

Other variants I reviewed:

Absolutely Nails

Few weeks ago, I headed to Absolutely Nails for a (one-time sponsored) classic mani/pedi session.

Absolutely Nails (previously known as Nailcoholics), is located at Marine Parade Central. Their services include Classic/French Manicure & Pedicure, 2D/3D Nail Art, Acrylic/Gel/Extension, etc.

For those staying in Katong, Marine Parade, Joo Chiat and Siglap area, you might wanna check out Absolutely Nails.

Pardon the lack of photos. As I was there after an event, my hp/camera batteries were officially dead by then.

Upon reaching Absolutely Nails, I was promptly served by Yaxin, who has been working there for more than 2 years. I like how meticulous she was, be it filing and buffing my nails, cutting my cuticles or scrubbing away the dead skin. She did a good job in painting my nails evenly as well.

I initially wanted a pastel combo for my mani/pedi, but the color (nail polish) I wanted was dried up. She recommended this taupe color with a glittery tip, which look really good in my opinion.

Instead of the usual square nails, I opted for oval nails as I was told that they will give the illusion of longer fingers. On a side note, pls ignore the blue stains... the woes of having blue hair (lol).

As for my feet, I chose this Tiffany blue. Absolutely love this color!

Overall, the service was commendable. Location-wise, it will be great for easties like me.

Right now, there is a promotion for first time customers - 30% off all treatment. Valid only till end April 2013. Simply flash this voucher on your mobile phone to enjoy the discount.

Absolutely Nails is open daily - 10am to 8:30pm (Mon to Fri), 10am to 8pm (Sat/Sun/PH).

For more info, visit their website or FB Page

Back to Loud Colors - Blue (& Purple)

I am offically back to loud colors, blue (& purple). If you've been following me on IG or twitter, you would have seen my current hair color. Having primarily blue hair was never on my agenda. Well, this has gotta be the craziest decision ever.

My previous orange-red hair had faded to a copperish brown. For my hair to look blue, bleaching is required. A light blonde to be exact. Let's say... if my hair were to be a yellowish blonde, it will result in green or teal instead of blue.

And so, my hair was bleached twice. I quite like the blonde look actually... but I don't think I would go blonde? heh.

Here's my newly appointed hairstylist, Chisato, from Tokyo Japan! She has 8 years of hairdressing experience from Shibuya, Tokyo's most colorful and stylish district.

She's very-very friendly! If you love trendy and beautiful hairstyles, do look for Chisato!

I thought my hair would look like hay after going through all the bleaching and coloring. Not at all! My hair was so soft and smooth!

I love the varying tones in my hair!

Some haircare tips that I learnt...

  • It is advisable to apply a leave-in conditioner daily on completely blow-dried hair. Do not apply it on slightly damp hair as it will create a sticky mess.
  • Try not to shampoo your hair daily. Every 2 to 3 days perhaps. Use cold water to prevent fading. The hair color will last longer.

A week later, I went back to the salon to touch up my roots and darken the hair color.

BEFORE...

AFTER...

I love this royal blue color on me, as it makes my skin look fairer and brighter

My blue hair has been grabbing attention everywhere I go. Not to mention, getting lots of compliments :P

It is quite fun to have blue hair. I'm lovin' how my hair stands out in photos

Thank you, Chisato for my awesome blue-blue hair!

Power Over Cervical Cancer (POCC)

Have you heard about Cervical Cancer?

Cervical cancer is the 2nd most common cancer affecting women worldwide, and in Singapore, 1 woman is diagnosed with cervical cancer every 2 days. Ironically, this is the only woman’s cancer which is preventable.

OC Group is currently running a non-profit cervical cancer awareness campaign - Power Over Cervical Cancer (POCC). This campaign aims to educate mass females about the danger of cervical cancer and how they can protect themselves.

***For more info, pls refer to the POCC website.***

This year's campaign theme is "You have the Power!".

As a woman, you have the power to enjoy the best in life, to live the way you want, and most importantly, you do have the power to protect yourself!

Power to Conquer
To kick start the campaign for this week, there will be an online Reverse Auction activity - Power to Conquer.
Every 2 days, there will be an item up for bid from as low as 80% of the retail price. Unlike the usual auction where highest bid wins, this Reverse Auction is the LOWEST UNIQUE BID wins!

These exclusive items are proudly sponsored by the supporting retail partners & celebrity ambassadors.
The aim is to pool in as many ladies as possible (18 to 45yr old) onto POCC platforms to learn more about cervical cancer.

In the month of May...

Power to Challenge
For this challenge, there will be 8 retail merchants offering special item/service at an attractive price specially for this POCC activity.
They will be introducing a "Challenge Game Card" where the participant will need to complete at least 4 "challenge tasks" on the cards from the participating merchants and enter in a grand lucky draw with lots of exciting prizes.
This is a unique challenge whereby you can enjoy exclusive offers at the participating merchants and also stand to win more prizes!

Power to Enjoy Retail Therapy
The campaign's key event - Power to Enjoy Retail Therapy, will be on 26 May, at Scape Orchard, Warehouse (an indoor air-conditioned area).
This is a full day event from 11am - 8pm.
Through this they aim to reach out to ladies and spread the awareness message, hence it is a female-only indulgence event to pamper ladies with all things purple, and bag great bargains.

Tagged: 32 Random Facts about Me

About 2 weeks ago, I was tagged by Herine to do this Beauty Blogger Tag. I haven't been doing a random fun post like this for the longest time... a little break from the usual event/review posts (;

Here goes...

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
My hair is naturally straight... maybe a lil' wavy?

2. What’s your natural hair colour?
Black, but not jet black kind.

3. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
I used to dye it myself until Shunji Matsuo 313 became my hair sponsor last year... *throws confetti*

4. Do you wear the same style every day or do you change it?
I'm lazy to style my hair, be it long or short. My hairstyle is pretty much the same every day (without fail) :X

5. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I do my own mani/pedi. Hmm... any nail sponsor? *wink-wink*

6. How often do you change your nail polish?
Depends on my mood. Either weekly or fornightly.

7. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?
Fornightly or once a month.

8. How long does it take for you to put on your makeup?
Usually 15mins. If I'm heading to a wedding dinner, it will take about an hour or so.

9. What do you do first, face or eyes?
Face, of coz.

10. Do you “collect” makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
I used to haul alot... until I realize I can't possibly finish them! I refrain from hauling thereafter. Sometimes, it's just hard to resist temptations.

11. How often do you wear false eye lashes?
Once in a blue moon. I am trying to wear them more often recently :P

12. Do you do a full face of makeup every day?
Not really. Sometimes, I just put on BB Cream/sunblock only.

13. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone, or with family?
Nope. I don't see the point of doing so.

14. Will you leave the house without makeup?
Yes, though I look like a zombie.

15. How many high-end products do you have?
Too many to be counted, be it skincare/makeup/fragrance. Part of them are bought, the rest are given by companies.

16. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you are getting dressed?
Nope. I usually decide before I go out. I am lazy like that.

17. How often do you change your handbag?
Depends on my mood. Monthly, maybe?

18. What time do you get up and go to sleep?
I'm a night owl. Go figure.

19. How often or when do you work out?
Depends on my mood. Not often right now. I'll (try to) start working out probably next week :X

20. Left handed or right-handed?
Right.

21. How tall are you?
Not very tall - 1.64m.

22. Do you speak a foreign language?
Not really... but I know kamsahamnida, sawadeecup... does that count? lol

23. How many pets do you have?
Not at the moment. I had a white mouse during primary school days. It died after my classmate accidentally stepped on it. The past ones I had, included a hamster, a mini lobster (no, it didn't end up in my tummy), terrapin... I think that's about it.

24. How often are you on Blogger (or your other blog platform)?
Daily, though I don't blog daily. I stalk read other blogs.

25. Do you read comments posted on blogs?
Sometimes, especially Xiaxue's.

26. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
I used to do that in the past. Very seldom nowadays.

27. How did you come up with your blog name?
Well, I think I wanna force everyone to luv me (lol).

28. What kind of camera do you use for photographs?
Canon Isus 1000HS that I won few years ago... though it's kinda cranky now. Not to mention my trusty hp camera when I forget to bring out my camera (like always).

29. How often do you clean your house?
Once in a blue moon. I think you should know I'm very-very lazy by now. No? Read this post from scratch.
