Biore Facial Foam - Skin Caring Cleanser Series

Biore has just launched its Facial Foam - Skin Caring Cleanser Series on 3 Jan 2013. This new Biore Facial Foam Series support and boost skin’s natural ability to self-renew.

NEW! SPT (Skin Purifying Technology):

  • high cleansing power as compared to its competitors.
  • low irritation as cleansing chemical does not penetrate skin.
  • the 1st cleanser that works to rebalance skin >> reduce oil at T-zone (forehead + nose) and replenish moisture at U-zone (cheek + chin).

Cleanses & Improves. 1 min is all you need.

Due to hormonal changes, my skin suffered from massive breakouts few weeks ago. Hence, I opted for the Acne Care variant that is non-comedogenic AND contains anti-bacterial & anti-inflammation ingredients. I got to try out the Biore Facial Foam Scrub as well, which is suitable for all skin types.

Biore Facial Foam Scrub contains ultra fine (pink) beads to remove impurities and unclog pores. Both have distinct floral scent - sweet floral (Scrub), refreshing floral (Acne Care). Very pleasant and soothing scents.

- for your reference -

Biore Facial Foam (Acne Care) is a purifying and mild cleanser, which thoroughly clears and helps prevent acne without drying skin out.

Both are housed in this convenient squeeze tube (130g) with a flip-top cap, a typical packaging for facial foams.

Despite the rather slimy texture, the Acne Care Facial Foam does lather well. As you can see, the foam is not the dense and fluffy kind you get from the Biore Marshmallow Whip Facial Wash.

Biore Facial Foam Scrub is gentle enough for daily use. However, I don't use it on a daily basis. Thrice a week at most.

Like the Acne Care Facial Foam, it lathers well too.

How to use (both products)?

Wet face. Squeeze about 3cm amount onto palm (I squeeze 2cm only). Lather with water and massage gently onto face. Rinse thoroughly with water.

My thoughts:

Both Acne Care Facial Foam and Facial Foam Scrub cleanse well without stripping my skin of its moisture. And, they don't give that squeaky clean (taut) feeling. After using the Acne Care Facial Foam, my skin feels refreshed, thoroughly cleansed and soothed. As for the Facial Foam Scrub, it is really gentle on the skin as the ultra fine (pink) beads do not feel scratchy against the skin at all. My skin feels smooth and refined after every use.

As of now, I am glad to see my complexion has somewhat cleared up. My skin feels soft and supple, with lesser clogged pores and breakouts. As compared to few weeks ago, my skin definitely looks healthier and more radiant. I enjoyed using these products very much! Both retail for less than $10 each ($7.90 I think) at Watsons, Guardian and Sasa.

My 3-Step Skincare Routine for Troubled Skin: Biotherm Purefect Skin

I'm not a teenager anymore, but (at times) I still suffer from shiny skin, breakouts, visible pores, etc. Being a full-fledged adult, my imperfections tend to form in the U-zone (chin, cheeks and around the mouth) now. Sad but true. To battle against troubled skin, I went back to the basic 3-step skincare routine, using only cleanser, toner and moisturizer. I took almost 2 months to purefect my skin.

Back to the basics...

Purefect Skin 123

  • Anti-Shine Purifying Cleansing Gel
  • Micro-Exfoliating Purifying Toner
  • Pure Skin Effect Hydrating Gel

***Fyi, the price range is friendly (nothing above $50), considering the fact that Biotherm is a counter brand.***

Purefect Skin Anti-Shine Purifying Cleansing Gel

Step 1: Cleanse

Having a thoroughly cleansed face is that important. A good cleanser cleanses well, without stripping the skin of its moisture. Yes, it does just that. I am amazed that it foams up very well. Seriously, I ain't expecting that. See the amount of white foamy goodness I get? I like that it is not harsh on the skin at all. And, my skin doesn't feel uncomfortably tight after cleansing. I love the fresh scent... very refreshing and soothing! I reckon it's the signature scent of Purefect Skin, coz the toner and moisturizer smell exactly the same.

Purefect Skin Micro-exfoliating Purifying Toner

Step 2 - Tone

This toner will be good for those with oily/imperfect skin, but can be rather harsh for dry/normal skin. Now that my skin is no longer troubled, it proves to be too drying for my skin since it contains alcohol, which causes my skin to flake - at the nose area to be specific.

That said, I really enjoyed using the toner when I had troubled skin. It exfoliates the skin gently, removes impurities and preps the skin well for moisturizer application. My skin is freshened up and looks less shiny (mattified).

Purefect Skin Pure Skin Effect Hydrating Gel

Step 3 - Moisturize

This feels really lightweight, which is easily absorbed into skin. I appreciate that it is non-sticky, leaving my skin mattified for hours. Moreover, I find that it is pretty hydrating though it is an oil-control product.

All in all, Purefect Skin is indeed perfect purefect for those with troubled skin - tested and proven by yours truly. I find that my skin is less prone to breakouts after sticking to Purefect Skin 3-step skincare routine. Oh yeah~ My skin is back to normal! Thank goodness!

For those with troubled skin, do try out Purefect Skin! Hope my review helps. Thanks for reading (:

Skin79 O2 BB Cleanser

Skin79 recently launched the O2 BB Cleanser, a self-bubbling cleansing foam for makeup with double effects of 2 cleansing steps.

girly pink + white combi ♥

Skin79 O2 BB Cleanser offers a 6-in-1 effect:-

  • Eliminates BB cream makeup of strong coverage with compact and rich bubbles.
  • Has a BRIGHTENING effect with 3x more dense O2 Bubbletox system and Maackia Fauriei & OBFN ingredients.
  • It contains the skin DETOX effect with micro O2 Bubble particles which clear up sebum and dead skin cells.
  • It offers ELASTICITY to the skin by supplying plenty of MOISTURE and creating a skin barrier with Chia seed and Oatmeal.
  • The self lifting massage with soft rolling effectively delivers the Acacia collagen ingredient to the skin with elasticity.
  • It is LOW IN STIMULATION with a Free Formula System, and contains no Parabens, Colour, and Pernicious ingredients from minerals or animals.

Skin79 O2 BB Cleanser, in a nutshell:

  • ONE SHOT BUBBLE
  • DEEP MOISTURE CLEAN
  • SKIN DETOX EFFECT

Here's the ingredient list. Fyi, the main ingredients are Chia Seeds Extract, Acacia Collagen, OBFN (Pomegranate, Fig), Wichihagel Extract, Oatmeal Extract Hydration, Maackia Fauriei.

Comes with a fuss-free pump dispenser.

How to use?

  1. Pump the gel out.
  2. Apply and spread over the face, avoiding areas around the eyes and mouth.
  3. When spread over the face, the gel bubbles up and becomes foam instantly.
  4. After 1 min, massage the face gently in circular motion.
  5. Rinse off with warm water.

Skin79 O2 BB Cleanser cleanses the skin very well, removing all traces of my base makeup. I like that it leaves a nice moisturized feel on the skin, leaving it feeling super soft and smooth. My skin doesn't feel tight at all. This is really an effective cleanser for base makeup. I'm surprised that it cleanses so well and so fast! Extra brownie points for the very soothing floral scent. It smells so good!

Do note that it is not meant for cleansing the eyes. Usually, I'll use Bifesta Eye Makeup Remover to remove the eye makeup 1st, then use Skin79 O2 BB Cleanser to remove my base makeup. Not much of a hassle for me.

Besides, the price is wallet-friendly at only $24.90 (100ml). I do foresee myself purchasing it once it's used up. In case you're wondering where to get it, it's available at Watsons, Sasa, John Little & BHG.

Mentholatum Acnes medicated skincare

thanks Fr3b once again for giving me the opportunity to try out full size Acnes 3-step kit (just in time to combat my awful zits) !

i was given Acnes medicated creamy wash, Acnes medicated sealing jell & Acnes medicated powder lotion.

besides these 3 products, Acnes medicated skincare has others like Acnes foaming wash, Acnes clear & white wash, Acnes oil control moisturizer, Acnes UV tinted milk, Acnes point clear, Acnes oil control cleansing sheet, Acnes tea tree oil clay mask, Acnes oil control mask & Acnes nose pore strip. those underlined ones i'm interested to get 'em :D

actually, i've used Acnes medicated creamy wash before. i bought it immediately when Acnes medicated skincare was available at watsons. back then, the product variety wasn't that extensive. i remembered that i like this cleanser pretty much and i finished using it quite fast since it's a rather small tube.

i like the refreshing lime smell. it foams pretty well but i guess the foaming wash will be much much foamier (i like) :p

after cleansing, it leaves my face feeling matte and moisturized. yipee ! thumbs up definitely :D

here's a yucky close-up of the awful zits on my forehead :C

ooo this is an interesting product which contains oil-absorbing powder to keep face clean and fresh for long hours ! WOW i like ! the before and after shaking pictures hahas ! my face feels refreshed (very soothing) and i love the minty menthol smell (weirds uh xD) the smell is not over-whelming, no worries ! super like this :p

the last step will be applying this sealing jell on my blemished skin. the feeling is quite soothing, which helps to calm my skin pretty well. btw it contains Sulfur which is an effective way to treat acne and pimples. Sulfur works against acne by causing peeling or exfoliation of dead skin cells from the surface layer of skin. however, though it can clear whiteheads and blackheads, it doesn't work for the more severe cystic acne.

and so, do try before you buy (i'm so naggy hahas !)

My love affair has just started..

yes, my love affair has just started. i hope it'll last long. i've high expectations.. they say, the higher your expectations, the more disappointment you'll get. i shall now share with you my lover(s)..

:

:

:

this is the 1st picture i've taken with my lover no.1, affectionately known as hada labo super hyaluronic acid hydrating face wash. opps long name i know.. umm so how's my first date ?

first, i squeeze sufficient amount onto my palm.

then, i lather with water and massage the foamy goodness onto my face using gentle circular motions. it was a good sensation on my skin definitely, i like (: my skin feel perfectly cleansed and there was so sense of tightness. overall, this is a rather mild cleanser which won't strip the skin off moisture. this is the beginning of journey to silky smooth hydrated skin !

and so, this is my lover no.2, well-known as hada labo super hyaluronic acid hydrating lotion. actually i love this one more :x shh..

hmm.. the texture is mildly thick, a bit sticky. hence, 1 big drop is sufficient for my whole face. finally, i jus need to 'pat pat pat' onto my skin until thoroughly absorbed. my skin feels instantly hydrated ! slightly sticky feeling though..

oh well, i'll continue this affair till one day they fail me (hope not). they certainly have not disappoint me so far, keep up the good work ! ps: may my love for you(and you) grow day by day (:
