LOTD feat. Brigitte Romantic Makeup

Hmm... I noticed that my recent LOTDs have been pretty neutral, mainly browns. I haven't been using bright colors like orange, green, blue. Shall make a mental note to do so, in my next LOTD.

The LOTD in this post, is yet another neutral brown... with a touch of gold.

Romantic Blush OR-1 Orange ($24.90) & Romantic Eyes GD-1 Gold Brown ($26.90)

Earlier on, I've posted my review/swatches of Brigitte Romantic Makeup HERE.

Here's how the duo cheek color looks, swept across my cheek. I apply the orange-peach shade, followed by the light peach shade (to highlight). The duo shades blend seamlessly, creating a soft and natural look. The soft peachy orange shade is so niceeee! Right-right?

I apply the beige-brown shade over the lids, then the light pale gold shade to highlight the brow bone. Instead of eyeliner, I use the golden brown shade to define the eyes, and the dark brown shade at the outer end. To finish up the eye look, I apply Bonavoce Ultra Volume Mascara (to volumize my lashes).

Play Seductive with Playboy VIP Fragrances!

The fragrance I use, depends on my mood... and the place I am heading to. If I'm heading to the club, I'll naturally feel a lil' flirty... and I won't go wrong with the new fragrance by Playboy.

Playboy
launches their very 1st fragrance duo, VIP For Him and For Her

I love the scent on me. Playboy VIP For Her smells very womanly, sensual, and definitely seductive. It is a floral fragrance with an enchanting musky base, bursting with initial fruitiness.

Being an eau de toilette (edt), it usually last for about 3 hours (at most) before the need to respritz.

VIP For Her flacon is a round glass bottle, with the signature black rabbit ears as the hat cap. The gold bow tie does enhance the overall bottle design.

As for the men, the fragrance smells slightly sweeter b'coz of the white chocolate ingredient (base note). Regardless, it still smells manly.

I passed the fragrance to my bro. Ironically, he prefers VIP For Her (lol). I think VIP For Him is a lil' sweet for his liking. Hmm...

VIP For Him
flacon is a simple design glass bottle, which is a reminiscence of hip flask (small metal container for alcohol).

Now for the giveaway! Two lucky winners will get either VIP For Him or VIP For Her fragrance.

Simply post on FB or retweet this giveaway blogpost link. Then leave a comment, stating the fragrance you want, your twitter/FB name and email address.

The giveaway ends on 7 Feb 2013, 2359. I will announce the winners on 8 Feb 2013.

Orange-Red Hair Color, All Ready for CNY!

I started with ash brown/pastel blue & green, then ash brown/purple, and back to the basic light ash brown. As much as I like my light ash brown hair, I felt the need to change. Since CNY is round the corner, I decided that I shall go full-on red (orange-red to be precise).

Arrived at Shunji Matsuo 313 before noon... all ready for my new hair color!

It was time for hair treatment after hair-coloring. Instead of the Curement Herbal treatment, I was given the Matrix Color Bloom Bioservice, to keep my hair color shiny and vibrant.

By the way, I told Caely that I wanted the red to be as bright as the model's hair (in the above pic). My wish was granted

Tired looking me... =.=zzz

Tadah~ My super chio hair! MEGA LOVE

Thank you, Caely!

That's my default expression (on the left).

Didn't cut my hair this time as I plan to grow out my hair... to look more feminine. Hmm... I might change my mind later (lol)... fickle-minded me :P

More pics of my hair color...

From light ash brown to orange-red.

My hair looking super bright.

A day out with my sis.

Coincidentally, we're wearing heart necklaces. Mine was last year's birthday present from Jones. Nice right? (:

A night out with Herine & Cherissa.

That's how red my hair is!
HUAT ar~!

PS: Remember to call to book your appointment. There's no surcharge for CNY!

VanityTrove Jan 2013 Edition - Fresh New You

Apart from the beautiful surprises in the monthly VanityTrove, there will be sharing of "how to" tips, inspirational ideas, etc... in the form of a mini "Vanity" booklet, starting from Jan 2013.

Camy (from VanityTrove) did a special mix of featured products from Nov + Dec + Jan, hence mine might look a lil' different from the rest. Mine was indeed a box of beautiful surprises! Thank you, Camy!

TruLife Lingzhi Immunity
- $58.80 (box of 10)

It is a health supplement drink for all ages. This is perfect when you feel exhausted or just want to improve your general well-being.

It tasted pretty alright to me, kinda like (cold) herbal soup. The herbal-ish taste might be a lil' strong for some.

Ciracle Blackhead Off Cotton Mask*
- $32.90 (20pcs of Blackhead Off Cotton Mask + black plastic dual-ended cotton swab + blackhead removal tools)

It is a 100% cotton mask that removes sebum, blackheads and whiteheads. It helps to manage the pores around the nose by dissolving and removing sebum, blackheads and whiteheads without any skin irritation.

Philosophy*

"Philosophy is a brand that approaches personal care from a skin care point of view. We believe in miracles and the beauty in everyone."

I am new to this brand and have never tried any of their products before. The sample kit consists of the microdelivery peel (step I and II), eye hope (multi-tasking eye cream for dark circles, puffiness and lines), purity made simple (3-in-1 cleanser for face and eyes), miracle worker (miraculous anti-aging moisturizer).

DrGL Collagen Essence
- $198 (30ml)

This is a deluxe size sample of 10ml. If you do the girly math, 10ml = $66! I was really excited to see this product upon receiving my trove.

DrGL Collagen Essence is suitable for even the most sensitive skin. This superbly hydrating formula penetrates deep within to deliver and retain moisture beyond skin's surface. It has a very lightweight (watery) texture, which keeps skin comfortable in hot and humid weather while still providing more than adequate hydration in drying winter conditions.

Sounds really good yea? I'll be trying this essence soon!

Yuskin A Hand Cream
- $14.90

It is a rich, gentle and moisturizing cream that relieves dry skin. This top-selling moisturizer in Japan is adored for its light and non-greasy texture. It contains Vitamin E and Glycyrrhetinic Acid to heal chapped skins.

It does not contain steroids, artificial coloring or preservatives. It can be used on hands and feet, even lips.

I tried it on my hands. It has this balmy texture and feels slightly greasy initially. The greasy feel dissipates some time later, and leaves a slight film on the skin. It moisturizes my dry skin very well, especially my super dry legs. And, I really like its medicated scent. I am weird like that (lol).

Laline Body Cream (Vanilla)*

It is a 100% pure pampering treat for the body! This creamy, silky smooth classic body cream contains aloe vera gel to soothe and calm the skin.

This is definitely one of my faves in this VanityTrove. It smells so good... so delish! I like that the vanilla scent is not too sweet. Most body creams tend to leave the skin feeling sticky or greasy after application. This does not... how not to love it!

Adore Sanitary Pad
- $5.15 to $6.35

These premium sanitary napkins are ultra slim and highly absorbent. They also help supress bacterial growth.

I've never heard of this brand (Adore) before. Hmm... it is not my time-of-the-month yet... so I haven't got the chance to try them.

Lastly, just wanna share the editor's Beauty Tip No.1 - "Learn to make yourself a priority, not an option." from the booklet. I need to learn that obviously... looking forward to a Fresh New Me in 2013... (:

That's all for VanityTrove Jan 2013 Edition. Get your monthly dose of vanity HERE.

Thank you for reading!

Marc Anthony 2nd Day Clear Dry Shampoo

I've heard of dry shampoo, know what is for, but never got around using it. Thanks to Marc Anthony SG, I was introduced to their new 2nd Day Clear Dry Shampoo. That marks my very 1st bottle of dry shampoo. And, I am sure it is not gonna be my last.

Developed with Nanotechnology and Zeolite (micro-porous mineral), Marc Anthony 2nd Day Clear Dry Shampoo cleanses hair effectively without leaving a chalky residue or gritty texture. Its invisible, extra absorbent formula removes excess oil from hair, eliminates odor and adds volume. It is suitable for all hair types, styles and colors to get fresh-looking hair between washes.

How to use?

Shake the can well before use. Hold it 6 inches away from hair. Make sure your hair is dry. Lightly spray Marc Anthony 2nd Day Clear Dry Shampoo on hair in quick bursts, concentrating on the root area. This will help to absorb excess oil and add volume. Let dry for 1min. Brush through to finish your style or, for a more natural finish, give your hair a gentle tousle. Style as usual.

If you are flat ironing your hair, iron first and then spray at the root for extra body.

I like the soft floral scent Marc Anthony 2nd Day Clear Dry Shampoo leaves on my hair - fresh and nothing too strong. Personally, I think it is a great product for achieving fresh looking hair in a jiffy. It is perfect for my newly colored hair as it cleanses hair effectively without the wash, while protecting the color. With lesser hair washes, my new (red) hair color do not fade off that fast and stays beautifully vibrant. My hair looks healthily shiny without looking greasy. And, it makes my hair look slightly volumized than usual. Most importantly, it does not leave any unsightly chalky residue unlike most dry shampoos. My hair looks good for a few hours before my hair starts looking greasy again.

I still wash my hair at least once a day (currently using Marc Anthony Brilliant Color Shampoo), coz I simply can't stand greasy hair. Well, I can be lazy at times. Hence, dry shampoo ftw!

Marc Anthony 2nd Day Clear Dry Shampoo retails for $24.90 (150ml), exclusively available at selected Watsons stores.

Burger-making Session at Fatboy’s The Burger Bar

It was my 1st time visiting Fatboy’s The Burger Bar, thanks to OpenRice! I was there for a food tasting + burger-making session.

The event was held at the Upper Thomson branch. It was quite a distance from Marymount MRT station, about 15mins walk at least.

The ambience there is pretty cosy, great for catch-up sessions with friends... over burgers of coz!

The bar area.

They do serve alcoholic beverages, like beers.

Before the burger-making session, we got to try their Chili Queso and Corn Chips. Hmm... this appetizer did not impress me much. In my opinion, the corn chips were not exactly crunchy. The chili queso was not that spicy, and went quite well with the chips.

By the time I started munching on these Spicy Hot Drumlets, they were kinda cold already. Though the meat was on the dry side, the drumlets still taste okay. They might be a lil' spicy for some.

It was either beef patty or a mix of beef/pork. I opted for the former. Those who chose the latter, were much pleased with how tasty and flavorful it turned out to be. That was mainly b'coz of the addition of pork collar.

The sauces and seasonings, for the meat patties.

Here's Bernie (owner of Fatboy’s The Burger Bar), teaching us how to make the patties. He was super action-packed. I hardly took any clear photo of him, seriously. Having a huge-ass camera helps, which I (sadly) don't.

Getting the patties into shape was effortless, using the steel mould.

A big thank-you to Estelle (OpenRice), for helping me make the beef patty! (:

Build your own burger! Hmm... they've really weird special sauces for your burger, like peanut butter... mango chutney... NUTELLA! I can't imagine myself having beef burger with nutella =.="
Choice of bun: sesame seed, wholemeal, honey oat

Ahh... I made the biggest mistake of choosing the honey oat bun. It tasted good on its own, but definitely not with Fatboy's Homemade BBQ sauce. Too sweet for my liking. I prefer savory burgers.

For the add-ons, I had grilled portobello and cheese. The fries were normal, something that I could do without. The beef patty was not that juicy, probably b'coz it was done medium well. The burger size was just right for me. If you're a big eater, you can always go for double patty. heh.

If I'm not wrong, my burger set costs about $17-ish.

And now, here's the best milkshake ever - chocolate with BAILEYS! The chocolate milkshake on its own was $7 and adding Baileys was a mere $4.50! There are other add-ons like peanut butter, banana, caramel, just to name a few.

It was thick, smooth and oh-so-creamy. Ahh... yummilicious :d~

And so, the session ends on a happy note!
