Mavala Lip Gloss [Sugar Free Collection]

Along with Delicious Color's, I also received a lovely set of Mavala Lip Gloss [Sugar Free Collection]. I had fun trying 'em out!

Mavala Lip Gloss [Sugar Free Collection] is created to match Delicious Color's [mini nail polish collection], for a yummilicious mix!

Mavala Lip Gloss is rich, ultra-shiny BUT non-sticky. Its formula contains micro-shimmering particles of mother-of-pearl as well as grape seed oil. Grape seed oil is enriched with vitamins, mineral salts and oglio-elements. It also contains polyphenols, which are Vitamin E enriched molecules which help to reinforce the natural protection of the lips, effectively fighting free radicals which are responsible for 80% of skin's premature ageing. The combination of emollient esters and grape seed oil, provides soothing, regenerating and nourishing care to lips.

I was provided with 5 beautiful shades to feature in my blog

These lip glosses are housed in clear tubes, which showcase their true colors. What you see is what you get!

Strawberry, like a delicious red coulis

Litchi, like a crunchy exotic fruit

Bubble Gum, like an old fashioned chewing gum

Grapefruit, like a fresh and rosy sweet

Blackcurrant, like a tasty cassis sugared almond

Love the soft foam applicator, feels very gentle on my lips (:

Swatch-fest!

These lip glosses pack a punch -- so pigmented! The shades are slightly iridescent to unveil the colors in all their beauty and subtleness.

Lip Swatches!

I enjoy using these vanilla-flavored lip glosses as they make my lips look so juicy :P As shown from the image above, my lips doesn't look/feel so dry with the lip glosses on. The shimmering particles are not obvious at all, unless you scrutinize real up close.

Litchi is a pretty nude peach color, best paired with smokey eyes (in my opinion). In comparison to the rest, it kind of emphasizes my lip's fine lines the most.

Grapefruit and Bubble Gum are my favorite shades, especially the latter. My lips look perfectly yummilicious with Bubble Gum on. My lip's fine lines are not that visible. As for Grapefruit, I just love this coral shade. Nothing too bright. MLBB (my lips but better) lip color

Strawberry's consistency is slightly watery, which doesn't give full-on red lips. Regardless, it is still decently pigmented. A cheery red which brightens up one's look instantly.

Blackcurrant is not too dark, a gorgeous red-violet. Not your conventional lip color. It gives off that mysterious vibe, me like.

I LOVE 'EM ALL!

My favorite shades (:

LOTD with Bubble Gum. Ahh... I'm missing my bright pink hair >.<~~

The long list of shades available.

That's all. Thanks for reading! (:

Hada Labo UV Moist Emulsion SPF50+ PA+++

After using the highly coveted Hada Labo UV Moist Emulsion SPF50+ PA+++ for about a month, I'm sold. This is good, fantabulously good. I mean it, from my bottom of my frozen heart.

Simple and straightforward packaging, I like.

It is housed in a sleek slim bottle, with 38ml of product. Hmm... weird number, I know.

All you need to know (:

Free of artificial ingredients:- fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol, colorant

The nozzle enables me to have a better control of the amount of product I want to dispense for use.

Remember to give the bottle a good shake before use (:

A glossy white fluid, with a slightly watery emulsion-like consistency.

It disappears into skin, leaving no white cast. Just a slight sheen, that's all.

Easy to spread on skin.

After applying...

Close-up on my bare skin with only Hada Labo UV Moist Emulsion SPF50+ PA+++

It feels super lightweight on the skin, and it doesn't take long for it to be fully absorbed. Once absorbed, it leaves no white cast. As compared to other sunblocks, this has got to be the most moisturizing of all (thanks to the 3 types of hyaluronic acid it contains). My skin looks nicely supple and radiant after application, doesn't feel or look greasy at all. It makes a pretty good makeup base, as it enables foundation to glide on easily and last longer. I like how my skin doesn't feel overwhelmed with all those layers of skincare + sunblock + makeup on my face, especially with the incredulously hot weather nowadays. The sunblock power is enough for me as I'm one who's seldom exposed to sunlight for long hours.

At a relatively affordable price of $19.90, this is one sunblock you ought to try. That said, if you're going to use it on body as well, this can be rather costly.

Maybelline The Magnum Volum' Express Ultracomb Waterproof Mascara

Maybelline The Magnum Volum' Express Ultracomb Waterproof Mascara (long name uh), was one of the goodies I'd received at Maybelline Product Launch Event. I've used this for quite a number of times, enough for me to do a detailed review.

Retails for $19.90. FYI, it's developed in Japan but made in China.

Delivers all the benefits that you have always wanted in one neat little package... really? Read on to find out (:

metallic teal x glossy yellow

Comb mascaras are not new BUT this is really one-of-a-kind! I've never seen anything like this, so far.

The comb applicator is convex-shaped to fit Asian eyes. I like that the alternating elastomeric teeth are really gentle to the lashes. They easily grab/catch each lash from root to tip (even the teeny weeny ones), combing each and every strand smoothly without touching the eyelid. To apply, just need to comb through. It's not the usual zig-zag motion ya.

While it separates the lashes pretty well, its unique collagen-filled fluid does not volumize each lash by 7x the volume. In fact, there's barely any volume to speak of. I'm sure those who've used this, can attest to that.

The mascara formula is a lil' dry, which means you've to layer on the mascara fast enough to avoid nasty clumps. With the use of an eyelash curler prior application, the mascara-ed lashes stay curled all day long. Even without, the lashes look slightly lifted from the roots, with a sharp tip.

The mascara doesn’t flake or wear off when you rub your eyes UNLESS you rub 'em real hard. It's waterproof , so I'm glad to say that there's absolutely no smudges at the end of day. Though waterproof, it is easily removed with makeup remover (I highly recommend Bifesta Eye Makeup Remover). FYI, it is tested suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

Overall, I like how it feels as though I'm not wearing any mascara; my lashes feel so soft and lightweight. My sparse lashes look well defined and somehow fuller, coated in black. However, the mascara obviously doesn't do much for my barely-there bottom lashes. I'll recommend Maybelline The Magnum Volum' Express Ultracomb Waterproof Mascara to those who want natural-looking yet defined lashes. For those looking for a good volumizing mascara, this is definitely not for you.

Positively Teal Bloggers Event; Ovarian Cancer Awareness Campaign

Last week, I attended Positively Teal Bloggers Event, with the aim of understanding more about Ovarian Cancer. My late mum is the primary reason why I want to be part of this campaign. She's a cancer victim (not ovarian though).

Through my blog, I hope to raise awareness of Ovarian Cancer to people from all walks of life. It is important to know the signs and symptoms of Ovarian Cancer as those in early stage have a better chance of surviving. Towards the end of this blog post, I'll be furnishing the general info about Ovarian Cancer.

The event was held @ La Maison du Canelé.

Introducing RoC Soft Smoothing Scrub

Thanks to the micro-exfoliating beads that is incorporated into its rich creamy gel texture, RoC Soft Smoothing Scrub softly cleanses, unclogs and purifies the skin. Combining soft scrub beads and softening clay, the exfoliating action is gentle enough for all skin types, even sensitive skin.

The high level of glycerin present in the formula hydrates the skin while scrubbing away the dead skin cells. This leaves the skin well moisturized sans the tight feeling one gets after cleansing. Without the barrier of dead skin cells on the skin surface, the skin can now absorb the maximum nutrients of skincare effectively.

Scrub your skin regularly to achieve clean and smooth skin, with a healthy radiant glow!

Gentle beads to protect skin

RoC Soft Smoothing Scrub combines 2 different beads' size to provide efficient and mild exfoliation. It consists of spherical pink soft beads that comes in irregular shapes with angles and ridges to effectively scrub away dead skin cells. These beads are made with Polythene that is gentle and soft enough to effectively scrub but yet prevent scratches or lesions to your skin.

Natural Clay absorbs the skin's unwanted

Bentonite, a natural clay, has a high absorption capacity that can easily suck out excess grease and dirt from the skin surface. When water is added, it quickly forms into a creamy gel texture which allows easy spreading on the skin.

Usage: Use twice or thrice a week after makeup removal or normal cleansing. Rinse well with water.

Retail Price: $30 (125ml)

Available at selected Watsons, Guardian, Nishino Shaw House and Essential pharmacy from May 2012.

The Black Beauty; Bihada Ichizoku Kurobarakamen Sheet Mask

I'm on a "mask-ing" blog roll. While I mask diligently, I don't really blog about it that much. Anyway, I'll be reviewing this mask which is very different from the conventional ones. Judging from the title, you should have guess its unique feature. Or should I say, color.

The mask name is such a mouthful, and it's in Japanese. Err... I know not what it means but... I do know that this mask is meant for brightening.

Mask description:

The secret of the black mask is the active moisturizing ingredients which help to adjust and restore skin's moisture level to keep face soft and smooth.

It is formulated with charcoal to hydrate skin and tighten pores. For brighter, fairer and translucent skin.

Retails at $8 (27ml).

Yessssss... it's really BLACK!

Well-well, it's a refreshing change from the usual whites. heh.

The mask material is very soft, I like! It isn't super thin hence doesn't tear easily.

I love the fact that it's super soaked with essence. As you can see, it fits my face contours very well. 99.9% perfection, I reckon. Yes, it adheres well too. Looks like "nose packs" on my face (lol)?

The photo was taken straight after I remove the mask. With the usual patting motion, the essence gets absorbed into the skin in no time. It feels a lil' sticky at first. Once it gets absorbed, the sticky feel is gone. Yay to that. Scent-wise, it smells floral to me. Nothing unpleasant, in my opinion.

No irritation or stinging sensation. Pretty soothing and moisturizing. I do notice a slight brightening and plumping effect after use. My pores are visibly minimized too.

Overall, I've to say it's a pretty good mask but... for the price of $8, I can easily buy 4-5 masks which can produce the same results. So, I don't think it's really worth to repurchase unless it's at a good promotion price.

Thanks for reading!
